ULTIMATE TASTE TEST DISCOVERIES SERIES
Klook.comThis is the most interesting discovery in the Ultimate Taste Test event. It garnered a rating of 3.3 out of 5.0.
The rating is mixed because it depends on where you compare it to. If you compare it to a yummy gourmet meal, then the quick meal packs taste ordinary. But if you are comparing it to a canned dish or a quick meal of eggs and sausages, these homemade meals in vacuum-sealed packs are worth every peso. The servings during the taste test event were tastier than when you cook the actual product at home.
I love the concept of lutong-bahay dishes in a clean, hygienic package that you can store for months and cook in just 5 minutes.
PIGOUT Food Corp is looking for dealers/distributors who can sell it to the right target market.
The Story of Pigout Food Corp’s Ready-to-Eat-in-5-Minutes Quick Meals
by Sarah Carungcong-Uyguanco, M.D., Chief Operating Officer of PIGOUT Food Corp.
PIGOUT Food Corp. is an all-Filipino corporation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2008. It was conceived by a group of well-seasoned food business entrepreneurs (the Juans) and health-conscious doctors (the Uyguancos) with the desire to create a “lutong-bahay” menu that is clean and hygienic, preservative-free, affordable, easy to prepare, healthy, and deliciously Pinoy.
The people behind PIGOUT are not new in the food industry for they have been in business for 9 years, successfully operating several branches of a bar and grill restaurant.
PIGOUT has a niche market – busy people like mid-level professionals, call center agents, students, daily wage earners, and people on-the-go who hardly have the time and energy to prepare a good home-cooked meal. PIGOUT provides the same service to small food stalls, kiosks, canteens, restaurants, golf clubs, and other small- to medium-scale food retail outlets.
PIGOUT is a pioneering concept in Ready-to-Eat-in-5-Minutes Quick Meals.
We have a commissary equipped with walk-in chillers and freezer storage facilities that can handle a large amount of raw food products, allowing us to enjoy the economies of scale in buying raw materials sourced from reputable and high quality suppliers.
Our vacuum packaging technology assures long storage life of our products, packed in food grade heat-resistant plastic, free from contamination or spoilage.
Research and development started in 2006 where we vacuum-packed home-cooked meals for personal consumption, stored frozen and tested them after 1, 3, and 6-month intervals then after 1 and 2 years. The results were that the viands tasted the same as if they were cooked fresh. So we started to produce a few of our favorite viands, some heirloom recipes, and initially gave them out to family and close friends. Eventually, the demand grew and the rest was history.
PIGOUT Food Corp. Quick Meal Packs are easy to prepare. Just put the pack in boiling water for 5 minutes or microwave submerged in water for 5-10 minutes. Voila! There are 30 viand varieties in 100- and 200-gram packs and can be stored in the freezer up to 6 months. A 100-gram pack is good for 1 serving while a 200-gram pack is good for 2-3 servings. More viands are being tested in the commissary and will be coming out soon. Best-sellers are Sisig Adobo, Korean Beef Stew, Corned Beef Sinigang, Pork Siomai in Chili-Garlic Sauce, Lengua in White Sauce, Callos, Chinese Humba, Gising-Gising, etc.
We’re currently promoting the products to interested dealers who are looking for a low-capital business venture.

Where can I buy these products? I want to try them out.
I think this is a great idea! If only this can be sold to office buildings, I would surely buy one at least 2 times a week. I’m getting tired of the usual fast food or Makati office food court. I hope this would be coming to offices soon. 🙂
Looking at the list made me hungry.
I always buy that in my office….
There's no retail outlet yet, but maybe we can facilitate it for you.
A very clever idea! And economically priced at that! I’m really impressed.
With you permission, Anton, I’ll post about this Pig-Out quick meal packs. Baka may maging interesado sa mga OFWs na nagbabasa ng aking munting blog.
Salamat po.
