Epiphany Restaurant – Global Cuisine Redefined?

Epiphany restaurant is a small resto that serves innovative continental cuisine where the menu changes every week, depending on the sudden realizations and inspirations of the chef.

Ryan, one of the owners, takes orders himself while his chef cousin Jeffry cooks the food.

The place is quite small and cramped. It has 8 tables only and can comfortably accommodate 24 people — but it has up to 36 max capacity.

(I like this photo of Joshua giving a Happy Lemon wink. 🙂 )

Tuna Ceviche (P230).

The simple tuna kilawin was made more interesting by the accompanying cherry tomatoes, pomelo and coconut sherbet. It looked small when served, but the serving size was just right.

Chicken Curry (P275).

We enjoyed their curry version, which was creamier (sweet) and not that spicy. The kids loved it, especially the bread when hot (otherwise, makunat na). They also liked the toppings of crispy shallots.

I guess the only thing I didn’t like about Epiphany was that the food was served very fast (like fast food), which probably means the food was prepared beforehand and they just reheated it. Like the curry — it was not served hot as I expected it to be.

Braised Short Ribs (P420).

This dish was yummy as well. It was a bit sweet and had very soft, flavorful meat. It was served with mashed potato (still stuffed inside the potato skin). I think it’s a bit expensive for its serving size, though.

Only imported craft beers are available at the moment.

Overall, the food we had was very good. I like the idea that the menu changes, so you’ll be in for a surprise for whatever the CCA-trained chef creates every week. The place is perfect for small, intimate gatherings.

Disclosure: Nothing to disclose. We paid for our meal and we are not related in any way with the owners of Epiphany.

P.S. The restaurant is not that kid-friendly, where your kids can easily move around and explore.

  1. We tried this place based on your review. We found the flavors ok. Sadly, the menu is extremely limited. When we went there for a Saturday night dinner, 3 out of the 8 main courses offered were not available. They even ran out of bottled water.
Even worse, 2 of our dishes had hair in them. When we pointed it out, waitress just asked which part of our dish had the hair on it. Since it was in the salsa verde, it was the only part they replaced. They even charged us full price for both dishes that had hair!

  2. These entrees are quite new to me. I have never seen those entrees prior to this. This could be the modern fusion that a lot are talking about.
