LUGANG CAFE is the best contemporary Taiwanese restaurant in Manila. They were able to beat their rivals in this category and continue to expand with the same yummy consistency in the Metro.

They have a huge menu, and I’ve often asked what the best food to order on the list is. We had one of our mastermind meetings at the SM Aura branch and each one ordered their favorites.

Check out our Lugang Cafe Experience…

Lugang Cafe is located at the 5F Sky Park in SM Aura Premier.

Upon entering, you are greeted by a contemporary Chinese restaurant ambiance with mirrors, chandeliers, and modern chairs.

It’s best that you make reservations if you plan on going during peak hours, especially if you are a big group.

Ask for the corner tables at the end of the resto for added privacy.

It’s easy to get lost in the extensive a la carte, dessert, and dining menus. I’ll share with you what we ordered and what I think about it.

DIMSUM

LUGANG CAFE-68.jpg
✮ Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao (8 pcs. – P248).

They are best known for their Xiao Long Bao with a thin delicate wrapper and steaming hot soup inside.

LUGANG CAFE-71.jpg
Steamed Shrimp and Pork Shiao Mai (8 pcs. – P288).

The next best dimsum, is the pork siomai with steamed shrimp on top.

LUGANG CAFE-78.jpg
Steamed Vegetable and Pork Dumplings (8 pcs. – P268).

This is a good alternative to the above two if you’re looking for something different.

HOUSE SPECIAL

LUGANG CAFE-88.jpg
✮ Three-Cup Chicken (P320).

My personal favorite because of the very tasty chicken. Admittedly, it’s a bit oily.

LUGANG CAFE-92.jpg
Stewed Beef, Tendon and Turnip in Clay Pot (P390).

My friend, Randy Manaloto, loves this. Recommended for foodies who love beef tendon, which is like a gelatinous tissue that binds the muscle to the bone. It has a fat-like texture and flavor but healthier. 🙂

SEAFOOD

LUGANG CAFE-84.jpg
Steamed Fresh Clams with Silk Melon (P240).

We also like these fresh clams with vegetables steamed in foil.

LUGANG CAFE-85.jpg
✮ Steamed Fish Fillet with Crispy Taoso (P380).

If you prefer fish, I would recommend this fish fillet topped with crispy Taoso.

PORK

LUGANG CAFE-79.jpg
✮ Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop (P180).

I love Taiwanese Pork Chop and this is one of the best in Manila! 🙂

LUGANG CAFE-77.jpg
✮ Smoked Cumin Spare Ribs (P580).

The meat is crunchy and falls off the bone easily. It’s best to eat this with your bare hands. 🙂

Love the cumin flavor and is best paired with plain rice.

VEGETABLES

LUGANG CAFE-87.jpg
✮ Stir Fried Seasonal Vegetables (P270). Choice of Brocolli, Spinach, Chinese Kale, or Kang Kong/Water Spinach.

Make sure to order vegetables. You can’t go wrong with the spinach, kangkong, or kale.

RICE

LUGANG CAFE-83.jpg
✮ Pineapple Fried Rice (P290).

If you like to be fancy with your rice, order their signature pineapple fried rice, which goes well with the fried meat.

NOODLES

LUGANG CAFE-90.jpg
Stir-Fried Beef Noodle with Taiwanese Barbecue Sauce (P280)

This is another favorite of my friend Randy, who always orders this BBQ Spaghetti-like pasta.

LUGANG CAFE-86.jpg
Meet our business mastermind group. 🙂

LUGANG CAFE-94.jpg
Fresh Mango and Black Sticky Rice on Ice (P190).

This was OK, but our halo-halo is still better.

LUGANG CAFE-96.jpg
Fresh Mango Cubes on Shaved Ice (P190).

Best for kids. 🙂

LUGANG CAFE-99.jpg
✮ Traditional Arabian Coffee (for Sharing – P240).

Don’t forget to try their Arabian coffee which is served using this unique coffee brewing apparatus.

LUGANG CAFE-1.jpg

LUGANG CAFE continues to be the best Taiwanese Restaurant in Manila.

For starters, order the Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao and Steamed Shrimp and Pork Shiao Mai

For meat, I recommend the Three-Cup Chicken, Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop, Smoked Cumin Spare Ribs, or the Stewed Beef, Tendon, and Turnip in Clay Pot.

For seafood, go with the Steamed Fresh Clams with Silk Melon and Steamed Fish Fillet with Crispy Taoso.

Make sure to also get one steamed vegetable dish of Kangkong, Kale, or Spinach.

For for carbs, order the Pineapple Fried Rice and Stir-Fried Beef Noodle with Taiwanese Barbecue Sauce.

Skip the dessert but don’t forget to try the Traditional Arabian Coffee or the Traditional Brewed Tea.

Budget is about P800-P1,000/head for a full course meal with drinks and dessert.

  1. What I like about them is that their serving size is pretty small so you get to order more variety. Price is pretty high for me though for the serving; however, they usually have the credit card discounts na 50% off!

  2. I Love Lugang Cafe – been at Greenhills branch a lot of times. My personal favorites are: Spicy Garlic Fish in Claypot, Roasted Layer Pork (dip it in mustard with sugar), Taiwanese Salt and Pepper Squid, 3 Cup Chicken, Beef with Chinese Crueller (super love this!) and Kung Pao Chicken.

  3. oh wow what a great post! I didn’t know about this restaurant till i saw your post. definitely going to to go eat there sometime soon! im dying for some and xlb and i want to give those porkchops and cumin spare ribs a try!
