SHINE is a bakery and cafe by celebrity chef couple Rob & Sunshine Pengson, featuring fresh gourmet interpretations and Parisian-inspired desserts via Gourmandise.

SHINE is easy to find because it’s directly across Toy Kingdom at the 3rd Floor of SM Aura. 

 The ambiance is bright, colorful, and fun. 🙂

Gourmandise Patisserie in Serendra has transferred right beside SHINE. 

The menu is well-curated and features interesting interpretations of Continental and Asian dishes.

✮ UMAMI FRIES (P250 +10% service charge). Parmesan, Sesame Nori, Kentucky Bourbon Aioli.

This is sinfully good. Love the crusted parmesan bits and sesame nori to pair with the fries.

✮ TOMATO SOUP (P190 +10% service charge). Parmesan, Basil, Croutons, Froth

One of the best tomato soups we’ve ever tasted — fresh, creamy, and with a good tomato taste.

APPLE & GOAT CHEESE SALAD (P390 +10% service charge). Organic Arugula, walnut, balsamic, romaine.

The serving size of this fresh salad is big enough for sharing. 

✮ CHORIZO RICE & CHASHU (P390 +10% service charge). Chorizo Bilbao, multigrain, ramen style pork belly, apple, sinamak pickle salad.

We love Chashu (meat used in Ramen) and it was nice to know that they serve it bacon style on top of multigrain rice with chorizo. Highly recommended if you are looking for a rice topping dish. 🙂

FONDUE BURGER (P390 +10% service charge). Angus Beef, Brioche, Mornay, Pickled Mustard Grens, Chips, Bourbon Aioli.

The burger was good with the buttery brioche and well-cooked meat. Nothing unique though.

✮ SALPICAO & MULTIGRAIN RICE (P590 +10% service charge). Served with either Multigrain Pilaf & Egg or Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Veg.

The meat was juicy, flavorful, and with generous big chunchs. Make sure to order extra rice. 🙂

 
ECLAIRS (Salted Caramel – P80, Chocolate – P80, Flavor of the Month – P90)

For dessert, check out the cupcakes and the chef’s signature eclairs.

Overall, we love the refreshing gourmet interpretations and feel-good ambiance of SHINE.

Order the Umami Fries as a starter, then the Tomato Soup and Apple & Goat Cheese Salad for appetizers, Chorizo Rice & Chashu or the Salcipao & Multigrain Rice for your main course, and lastly, the Eclairs for dessert.

Pricing is a bit expensive at P400-P600 for each main dish. Budget is about P800/head.
