July 31, 2015 update: Here’s the result of the Train vs. Plane survey: The best way to visit Europe!
I love traveling by trains to discover Europe and it’s very convenient once you land in UK or a European country. What has been your experience?
I’m helping Rail Europe, the global leader in European rail distribution, in conducting the survey to determine What is the Best Way to Visit Europe? TRAIN or PLANE.
For answering a 3-minute survey, you’ll get a chance to win a Eurail global pass, 1st class valid for 2 people (unlimited travel in 28 countries, worth 1 662 AUD). Note: The winner will be designated by a lucky draw.
Here are more details about the Train vs. Plane survey:
My first experience with Rail Europe is when we traveled to Valencia, Spain from Madrid via Renfe.
The check-in process is very smooth and the train cars are clean and spacious.
The leg space is spacious and it’s very convenient to work on your computer. It’s so comfortable that we just decided to sleep throughout the journey.
In London, it is very easy to go to Paris via Eurorail with the main train station located in St. Pancras International in the heart of the city.
About the Train vs. Plane Survey:
It only takes 3 minutes to answer the survey with only 13 questions. The first 6 questions is about Train vs. Plane and question #7-13 is about demographic of the survey respondent.

Wifey and I did an 8 country, 15 city stops in central Europe in 21 days last 2013. This was made possible through eurorail. We rode the trains more than 30 times (from city to city and country to country) and not even once we encountered any train delay.
EuroRail Tip: When riding using first class in eastern Europe (specially Czeck Republic and Austria) make sure you go to the lounge while waiting for your train. It is like being in an airport business class lounge.
My wife and are are keen to travel more by train. We did Japan by train and frequented travels by the Eurostar. Seeing Europe on the cheap is challenging, but I’d heard about the Euro passes, but haven’t actually tried them. But is it only limited for 1 month?
Ah! This really is a difficult to answer questions and I’m glad someone has taken a stab at it! I guess if you are travelling in a group you’d agree that rail wins hands down though!
