1. Namit! Find your favorite Ilonggo Cuisines and Delicacies!
Eat authentic Bacolod Chicken Inasal.
Inasal is marinated with a unique blend of suka or kalamnsi, garlic, achuete, lemongrass and sometimes soy sauce or salt. Then grilled over a charcoal pit, giving it a smoky flavor.
The best way to eat inasal is to dribble your rice with achuete/chicken oil. Be sure to try it with the local vinegar called langgaw. 🙂
Have you tried Cansi?
Beef Cansi with bone marrow is slightly similar to the bulao in Luzon and pochero in Cebu. The broth is slowly cooked for hours in wood fire stoves until the cartilage and bones fall off, then flavored with batuan, achuete and chillies.
The batuan gives the dish that subtle sour taste simillar to sinigang. 🙂
We also suggest you try Pancit Molo, Kadios, Baboy, at Langa (aka KBL) and Valenciana.
2. Pasalubong! Find your favorite local stores in Manila.
We love the fresh buko pie, guapple pie and lumpia na ubod of Ideal, flown fresh daily from Silay City.
Try the Guapple Pie, you’d be surprised how similar it taste to the classic apple pie.
The winner for us is the buko pie made from young coconut flesh. Layers of soft coconut flesh stacked together and baked between a thin layer of crust. A definite must try! 🙂
Busy line at the El Ideal Booth…
You can also buy your favorite Negrense flavors in a bottle… Gourmet dried herring in Olive oil.
Chorizo in a bottle, which similarly taste to Spanish chorizo which flavors are highly spiced with paprika.
3. Go Organic!
For those watching their weight, enjoy a tasty piyaya made from coco sugar.
Even better, when you can get it hot and fresh!
Going natural and back to basic? Find organically and chemical-free herbs and medicinal plants from Mamabele’s Home Garden.
4. Fashion! Find great finds with native inspired bags, accessories, and clothes.
Found a beautiful bag from Kiculo.
They use indigenous materials embellished with leather, beads and metallic blings.
You can also checkout other booths offering handcrafted accessories.
5. Hand-crafted and distinctive lamps, paintings and other home accessories, furniture.
Beautiful furniture made from natural and eco-friendly local materials such as buri, firewoods, tiger-grass, and leather.
The Negros Trade Fair also celebrates the dynamic partnerships formed over the years among the Association of Negros Producers, the Provincial Government of Negros, various non-government organizations, business sectors, sponsors and media as they share a common goal of promoting the province and strengthening the SMEs of Negros.
