It’s now a tradition in the family to escape and celebrate the New Year outside of Manila.
It was our first time to spend New Year’s Eve at Club Balai Isabel overlooking the serene Lake Taal in Talisay, Batangas.
CLUB BALAI ISABEL ROOM
We stayed in Malvar Room #107 and Recto Room #302 which both have two queen-sized bed and a capacity of 4 persons.
The toilet is clean and simple. The shower has hot and cold water. Best to bring your own toiletries.
The room has its own kitchen so that you can cook food or enjoy a meal at the comforts of your room.
Our boys loved to use the scooters to go around the property.
We spent swimming almost the entire day even if the water is a bit cold.
We would order the thin-crust pizza as merienda break in between the swimming sessions.
NOCHE BUENA
We started to eat the Noche Buena Lakeshore Buffet (P750/head) as early as 6.30 pm.
We love the massive display of different round fruits to bring luck in the new year. We ate dalandan the whole night.
Celebration in Manila is not complete without Lechon. We enjoyed Elar’s Lechon throughout the night.
Our kids liked the paella rice.
Baked Fish is served for those looking for a healthier option to eat for Noche Buena.
A simple Happy New Year cake for dessert 🙂
Rondala Band San Guillermo from Talisay, Batangas provided an energetic live music to boost the festive mood.
A solemn New Year’s Eve mass was celebrated at 9.30pm at the Spousal of Mary and Joseph Chapel inside the resort.
After the mass, everyone gathered around the pool to get a good view of the NYE fireworks.
We also celebrated the meeting of the two families of my Brother Rommel and his girlfriend Cha.
The fireworks setup is a bit far such that you don’t smell the smoke from the pool and the lakeshore wind quickly blows it away.
Yugi got scared of the fireworks while his brothers blow the torotot hard as the NYE countdown begin.
Greeting New Year 2016 with a rainy bang!
It was a Bacardi Black after party to end the night celebrating 2015 and welcoming 2016.
The New Year Day’s scene the morning after… So serene and beautiful… Happy New Year 2016!
