How to Get There (Manila-Tagbilaran)
By plane, we arrived from Manila to Tagbilaran (Bohol) in one hour and 25 minutes. A one-way ticket from Manila to Tagbilaran is usually around Php 3,000.

ALONA BEACH
Henann Resort has the longest beachfront along the famed Alona Beach (120 meters wide), named after sexy star Alona Alegre who did a nude shoot on this beach.
The beach is secured for check-in guests and good people only and the water in front of the resort is cleared of parked boats.
Alona beach is known as “Little Boracay” because of its nightlife and powder white sands. The comparison ends there because there are a lot of seaweed and parked boats.
THE HENANN POOLS
The pools are the main attraction at Henann Bohol. They have the most number of pools on the island with three major ones, each having their own bar.
The favorite is the pool facing the sea. The standard depth for most of their pools is 4ft.
The one in the middle has a 10ft deep pool, which was once used for practicing scuba diving.
The pool near the suites is surrounded by the main building, with jacuzzis in the middle that are just 1ft deep, perfect for toddlers to take a dip.
BREAKFAST AT HENANN
You can have complimentary breakfast at either the Coral Café located on the 2nd floor of the main building starting at 6.00 am or…
…at the Sea Breeze Cafe, which opens at 7:00am. Both feature Filipino and international selections. This is my personal favorite but make sure to go early.
Bohol’s mangoes are extra sweet because Bohol’s soil is made up of limestone, which contributes to the acidity (“sourness”) or alkalinity (“sweetness”) of its fruits.
The meat options change every day. Our favorite is the tender beef tapa or the glazed pineapple ham.
For something from Bohol, try their hot grilled Panglao Sausage.
I like the availability of Chinese noodle station for a light and energizing alternative.
Also check out the dim sum options like this Chinese siopao with chicken or pork filling.
Order their hot chocolate with ensaymada and banana bread.
Start your day right with a heavy breakfast before you go on your tour.
THE PREMIER ROOM
The Henann Bohol is the largest resort in Bohol with a total of 400 rooms featuring several room categories from private pool villas and rooms with direct pool access.
The Premier Room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed and relaxing subtle tones.
It has a balcony with a wonderful view of the resort pools.
The bathroom is marble-clad and spacious with a bathtub and separate shower area.
Make sure to book the Premier Room with pool access so that you can immediately jump into the pool upon waking up.
POOL VILLAS
For couples and families, we suggest you book the Pool Villas for a more private experience.
There are a total of 12 villas with Filipino hut-inspired exteriors and interiors.
It has a King-sized bed with a plush sofa.
Your can enjoy your own private pool with sun-loungers where you can swim butt-naked.
Luxurious marble bathroom with standing bathtub and shower facilities.
You get complimentary tropical fruits, coffee, tea, and water in every room.
This is the study table area where you can work with complimentary WiFi access.
You have a safety deposit box, bathrobes, slippers, and iron & ironing board in every villa.
The Henann Group of Resorts uses its own branded toiletries.
Book villa #4 so that your veranda is located at the center with a direct view of the beach.
BOHOL TOUR
A trip to Bohol isn’t complete without having to see the iconic Chocolate Hills, one of the natural wonders of the world, and…
…the cute Tarsiers.
Chocolate Hills has over 1,247 hills spread out in Carmen Valley and neighboring towns.
Tip: The Chocolate Hills are brown during summer time, which make them look like Chocolate Kisses.
The best place to see the Chocolate Hills is at Carmen view point where we had to walk 214 steps to reach the topmost deck. Too bad construction was still ongoing and blocking the view.

GRILLED DINNER BUFFET @ HENANN BOHOL
We love the dinner buffet at the Sea Breeze Beach Club featuring Asian, Western, and Filipino cuisine. They have the biggest buffet on the island that caters to guests everyday.
You can sit alfresco along the beach with live acoustic entertainment at night.
The highlight dish would either feature Chuck-eye beef or…
….the Lechon Belly with liver sarsa.
The Chinese dim sum selection complete with Japanese siomai, beef siomai, spareribs in bean curd, and chicken feet.
Peking Duck and Pork Asado, which were a bit dry.
The grilling station is the highlight of the buffet.
Definitely order the White Marlin–perfectly grilled fish with a buttery taste that slightly melts in your mouth.
Enjoy the abundant steamed crabs and shrimp.
Feast on grilled liempo and chicken.
The kids loved the pasta station where you can specify your preferred pasta, sauce, and toppings.
Dessert selection with different types of cake, desserts, and a fruit bar with mangoes. I like the Pinoy dessert selection with ube pudding and…
…DIY halo-halo.
Sea Breeze Cafe. Our favorites are the grilled shrimps, white marlin, salmon sinigang, beef tenderloin, chuck-eye beef, and the pasta station.
The lunch buffet has fewer choices, so I suggest you opt for the dinner one instead. The prices are quite affordable.

NIGHT LIFE @ ALONA BEACH
Alona Beach is known for its night scene, strips of restaurants with candle-lit tables on the sand, live acoustic music, and clubs for partying the night away.
The rows of restaurants and establishments by the beach is reminiscent of Boracay, but is a lot smaller and quieter.
Sometimes, it’s just more fun to hang out in the pool bar at night with your family and friends.
Overall, we loved our stay at Henann Resort Bohol because of:
– The convenient white sand beachfront location along Alona Beach
– The amazing Henann Pools!
– Villas with your own private pool
– It’s near different good restaurants along Alona Beach
– Good value grilled dinner buffet at Sea Breeze Restaurant
– Happy Hour and walking access to Bohol’s nightlife scene
– Family-friendly but at the same time the parents can opt to party at night
What we didn’t like during our stay:
– It can get noisy and busy along Alona Beach
– Seaweed by the shore and a bit rocky in the waters
– Ugly sight of the boats parked near the beach
