PI BREAKFAST & PIES: Best Breakfast at The Grove by Rockwell @breakfastnpies

Breakfast & Pi-33.jpg

π BREAKFAST & PIES is an all-day breakfast cafe by Chef Edward Bugia and partners, who believe in making mornings delicious. The original π (Pi) bakery is located on 39 Malingap St. in QC, with its first branch in The Grove by Rockwell, Pasig.

We recently went on a Hotel Aruga staycation at The Grove and truly enjoyed our Pi Breakfast & Pies morning.

Here are our favorites and what you can expect for breakfast…

Breakfast Menu: Pancakes, Gourmet Waffles, Grains, Sides, Beverages | All-Day Breakfast | Pies | Breads and Pastries

They have an extensive selection of all-day rice meals, pancakes & gourmet waffles, freshly baked breads, and signature pastries.

The breads are baked early in the morning at their Malingap store and sent to The Grove branch before it opens at 7am.

Breakfast & Pi-17.jpg
✮ Spanish Bread (P25), Ricotta Ensaymada (P45), and Nutella Glazed Doughnut (P45)

My all time favorite is the Spanish bread and their different ensaymada flavors.

Breakfast & Pi-62.jpg
✮ Cheese Roll (P25/piece)

We also love the cheese roll, which is a big loaf with a long piece of cheese inside and butter with sugar on top.

Breakfast & Pi-32.jpg
✮ Caramelized Spam (P265) served with garlic fried rice, kimchee, five-minute egg, pesto, and scallions.

This is our family’s favorite. The Spam is cut into cubes, sweetened, and fried. Eat it with a piece of egg and lots of rice.

Breakfast & Pi-25.jpg
✮ Beef Brisket Corned Beef (P265). Sliced housemade corned beef choice of original, chili, or garlic, served with herbed garlic fried rice, double sunny side up.

The beef brisket is cured in brine in-house and served in cubes instead of in shreds. We like the balanced saltiness and the tasty strands of beef.

Breakfast & Pi-29.jpg
Wagyu Beef Sirloin Tapa (P255) served with garlic kimchi fried rice, five-minute egg, and atchara.

Sweet, lean wagyu beef with hints of kimchi to cut through its sweetness. This is good too but overshadowed by the spam and corned beef.

Breakfast & Pi-24.jpg
Pinoy Breakfast Platter (P325). Beef tapa, chicken tocino, pork longganisa all in one plate served with garlic rice and two eggs.

If you can’t decide, then this plate is for you.

Breakfast & Pi-37.jpg
Huevos Rancheros (P275). Zucchini, eggplant, sweet potato beans, tomato, bacon, chicken skin, bell peppers, cheddar and ricotta cheese, cilantro eggs, Italian sausage.

Something light and different for those who don’t want to eat rice for breakfast.

Breakfast & Pi-20.jpg
Banana Nutella Cream Cheese Waffles (P165). Nutella and cream cheese frosting topped with banana.

Perfect combination of flavors. Best to save this waffle as a pre-dessert.

Breakfast & Pi-40.jpg
The Elvis (P315). Banana pancakes with peanut butter cream cheese frosting, banana syrup, and crispy bacon.

I like the salty contrast from the bacon and how each pancake is packed and not airy.

Breakfast & Pi-8.jpg
Order their signature pies for a sweet ending to your breakfast.

Breakfast & Pi-54.jpg
Orange & Lime π (P145/slice). Orange, lime, cream, and graham crust.

If you like your pie citrusy and light with a good layer of graham crust, order this.

Breakfast & Pi-50.jpg
Peanut Butter Honeycomb π (P215/slice). Chocolate fudge, peanut butter cream, honeycomb, coco banana milk biscuit crust.

Go for this if you like a peanut butter, chocolate, and honey flavor combination.

Breakfast & Pi-47.jpg
Smores π (P145/slice). Homemade marshmallow, chocolate fudge, graham crust.

For the smores-loving kids and kids-at-heart. You’ll love the marshmallow and thick choco fudge layer.

Breakfast & Pi-60.jpg
✮ Smack π (P125/slice)Our version of Momofuku Milk Bar’s Bestseller.

Our favorite! It’s like eating a yema cake with Momofuku milk and a nice oat crust.

Breakfast & Pi-1.jpg

A beautiful way to start your day with awesome Pinoy breakfast and pie options.

I recommend the Caramelized Spam, Beef Brisket Corned Beef, and The Elvis. Most of the pastries are good, too. Our favorites are the Spanish Bread, Ensaymada, and the Cheese Roll. For the pies, we like the Smack π Pie best (it’s so good that you’ll smack the person next to you). 😛

Budget about P500/head for a hearty power breakfast when you are in The Grove by Rockwell area.
