MÖVENPICK HOTEL & RESORTS is the only 5-star, Mediterranean-inspired beachfront hotel in Cebu.
Located in the island of Mactan, Mövenpick is just 6 kilometers (or 12 minutes) away from the airport, which is a big plus if you want to avoid the notorious Cebu city traffic.

Upon entering the resort premises, you’ll be greeted by an all white courtyard inspired by Greek architecture.
With its white walls and turquoise accents, Mövenpick certainly makes you feel like you’re having a vacation in a posh resort somewhere in the Mediterranean.
The high ceiling and modern furniture give guests that homey and spacious feeling one looks for in a vacation resort.
Conveniently placed just a few steps away from the lobby, guests can play a game of billiards or table tennis, while the kids can keep themselves busy with an Xbox 360.
Every afternoon, free chocolates and sweet treats are served to guests and visitors alike.
Combined with a friendly and welcoming staff, it’s hard not to feel at home.
The Sails is Mövenpick’s main dining restaurant, which features an international buffet, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with a creative à la carte menu.
Breakfast is from 06:30am to 10:30am, featuring their extensive breakfast buffet, which includes a touch of international and local delights for only PHP 1,200 net per person.
Of course, it wouldn’t be called the Mövenpick Resort if they didn’t serve their world renowned Swiss Ice Cream, right?
Stepping out at the back of the lobby, you’ll be greeted by a very inviting pool and Jacuzzi, nestled under the shade of giant coconut trees.
The famous floating chairs await you to strike a pose and be featured on your Instagram feed.
Just below the pool deck is a tropical garden with a view of the lovely beach.
You can always choose to spend your day and chill by the beach while enjoying the summer sun.
Or indulge in a beach view Cabana so you could enjoy some privacy and exclusivity with friends and loved ones (rental starts at P3,000 w/ butler).
You can also pamper yourself at the spa, just few steps from the beach.
If you’re in for an adventure, you can check out the watersports center, which offers a wide variety of activities like scuba diving, dive certification/classes, parasailing, jet ski, helmet diving, glass bottom boat, banana boat, and flying fish. You can even have a picnic in the sky!
During our stay, we booked a 2-bedroom ocean view suite, which can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children.
It offers a very spacious living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and even 3 balconies.
The bathrooms are clad in blue and white tiles, each with their own bathtub and an all-glass shower.
You get a complimentary set of toiletries with every room booking.
Our stunning view of Mactan island from the comfort of our rooms.
We couldn’t resist just staying in our rooms to watch the sun set.
In the evenings, Mövenpick completely transforms into the perfect night getaway!
(View from our Room) Ibiza Beach Club is Mövenpick’s Crown Jewel. It’s a stylish hub that offers nightlife from the comfort of the resort.
You can enjoy a world-class themed dance and music performance accompanied by a resident DJ.
You can also take a dip in the jacuzzi or simply hang out by the over-water hammocks while listening to the live music.
Ibiza Beach Club is also famous for its signature 15-Course Grill and Wine & Tapas pairings.
The 15-course includes a variety of grilled meats, seafood, barbecued and basted with Balearic marinades and spices. Among the delectable favorites are the filet mignon, juicy rib-eyed steak, baby back ribs, and buttery lobsters.
What better way to end the night than with good company and a view to match. Best part is you don’t even have to leave the resort to enjoy this kind of vibe.
Overall, we loved our stay at Mövenpick Hotel & Resorts. We liked how it’s isolated and away from the hustle and bustle of Cebu City.
Also, the fact that it’s a seaside retreat located in Mactan Island, remote though it may be, it still boasts an excellent restaurant, an inviting beach/pool with leisure and sports facilities, and a fantastic club. All these combined makes it one of Cebu’s best resorts.

P.S. Check out IBIZA BGC: Signature 15-Course Balearic Grill and IBIZA Beach Club Show!
Still would go with Shangri-la (the big place next door) for Family Stays, this has more of a single’s vibe
