The SPIDER HOUSE Boracay Sunset Session! (A REVIEW)

Bora 2

Spider House Boracay used to be one of the island’s best-kept secrets, but through word-of-mouth, the place has become very popular. It used to be just a family residence, but tourists kept stumbling upon the place, so the owners decided to open it to the public.

The resort is located at Diniwid Beach, a 30-minute walk from White Beach. It is a far cry from the busy Station 1 of Boracay; this place is meant for relaxation. Most vacationers come here to enjoy a different view of the Boracay sunset.

Here’s what we loved at Spider House…

From White Beach, you can take a 30-minute walk and cross to another cove where Diniwid Beach is located.

Diniwid Beach is much quieter than White Beach. Some like it better for the laid back atmosphere and its view of the sunset.

Spider House’s entrance is tucked all the way at the end of the beach, past Nami Resort.

It may seem like you’re in the wrong place, as the alley feels dark and dingy, but just follow the path.

The view as you emerge from the alley is a complete contrast–bright, cheerful, and laid back!

I love this old school LED sign that lets you know you found the right place.

Spider House is really meant to get you away from the concrete jungle and take you to a relaxing beachside view. Their use of anahaw and wooden furniture is reminiscent of the old Boracay establishments.

There is a ladder by the side that leads to the waters, allowing guests to swim and lounge in a more private area.

Jumping into the water is allowed sometimes during high tide, but you do this at your own risk.

They even have a huge floater on the water for lounging while waiting for the sun to set on the horizon.

We weren’t able to get overlooking seats as most of the hotel guests were already waiting for the sunset.

But the beauty of Spider House is the vast view of the sky and sea, so there really is no shortage of a good perspective.

Get your cameras out and ready when the sun begins to set and the sky starts changing colors.

Spider House Menu: Breakfast | Appetizers | Mains | Pizza | Sashimi, Sushi, and Rolls | Pasta and Dessert | Drinks

While watching the sunset, order some items from their menu. They have a variety of options from Filipino and American to even Japanese.

Pizza Margherita (₱310)

I loved their Pizza Margherita! The dough is handmade and they use good quality cheese.

Pizza Margherita with Pepperoni (₱400)

They also have an option to add a variety of meat toppings, like Pepperoni, for ₱90 each.

Carbonara (₱335). Spaghetti with bacon and ham partnered with 2 slices of toasted bread.

A classic Filipino-style carbonara with bacon and ham. The serving size is already good to share between two people.

Chicken Masala (₱280). Masala translates to spicy mixture, this spice is made use extensively in Indian cuisine.

The masala had all the right flavors and it wasn’t too spicy. My only wish is that it had more filling.

California Maki (₱280). Mango, Cucumber, Crabmeat, Avocado.

They also have a variety of sashimi, nigiri sushi, maki sushi rolls, and temaki sushi for something light and quick.

We transferred to a table with cushions on the floor for a more comfortable seating after watching the sunset. The crowd dwindles at night and goes back to white beach.

Witnessing the Boracay sunset peacefully without loud music blaring through the speakers is an experience one should not miss.

We loved the whole vibe of Spider House Boracay. It was almost full when we arrived, but the service was still quick and our requests were attended to.

This is a good place to have a merienda. Order their Pizza Margherita and Pasta Carbonara to split among your group. Budget at ₱500/head.

Make sure to have a Sunset Session here at least once during your next trip to Boracay.
