Iloilo City is known for its rich cultural history, art, historic churches, old mansions, picture-perfect countryside, mouthwatering seafood, and the famed Dinagyang Festival. All of these makes it a remarkable destination in Western Visayas.
With the gradual rise in business and economy in the Manduriao district, the owners of Grand Xing Imperial Hotel had a vision of bringing back the old glory of Iloilo to life.
Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, located in Iloilo’s downtown area is a modern 184-room hotel that promises its guests a premium experience at reasonable rates. We like the modern rooms, all-floor KTV bar, majestic ballrooms, and its star attraction–an infinity pool that overlooks Iloilo river.
Here’s a photo essay of our stay…
You’ll find the hotel on H. Montinola Street Corner Muelle Loney, Iloilo City.
The hotel is walking distance to the business centers, the Capitol, City Hall, and the SM and Robinsons Malls.
We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room with two comfy queen size beds.
Their rooms are very spacious with great air-conditioning and modern facilities. The best feature is the Samsung Curve TV. (Room rates range from P2900-P4500)
The bathroom has glass walls and is surrounded by mirrors for a more spacious feel.
They provide the usual amenities–soap, shampoo, shower gel, dental kit, and towel. I like the Korean face mask with green tea!
My favorite part of the hotel is the summit infinity pool overlooking the Iloilo river. Perfect for your OOTD game.
There’s also a Kiddie pool and mini bar.
The pool is located on the sunset side, so you’ll get a fantastic view in the afternoon. Too bad it was cloudy and rainy when we visited.
The breakfast buffet is located at Flames Restaurant. They offer simple breakfast menu items from…
…bacon and salads…
…to waffles, sausages, and egg stations.
Empire KTV Bar is known for having the best karaoke facility in Iloilo. With 31 rooms, the whole floor is dedicated to just that. The prices are quite reasonable, from P1500-P7000 (consumable food and drinks).
I love bonding over karaoke!
The songbooks are also updated, so you can sing to the latest hits you love!
Order their four-cheese pizza and huge buffalo chicken wings.
I also liked their crispy pata that’s already chopped for easy sharing.
Overall, we liked our stay at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel. I love the modern and affordable facilities plus the downtown location, which is especially convenient if you have a business meeting in the area.
Enjoy the infinity pool in the early morning for that Vitamin D. Plus there are fewer people compared to the sunset hours. Don’t miss the KTV bar, which was my favorite experience during our stay.

Disclosure: We were guests at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel. I wrote this article with my biases, opinions, and insights.
P.S. Xing means “fortune/success” in Chinese. I can’t wait for the Esplanade, 360 degree Sky Bar, Spa, and Gym to be finished.
