Decked in Nordic-themed flags, the Harbor Garden Tent was transformed into Viking Village as Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila and NordCham Philippines welcomed around 1,000 guests to celebrate the most authentic Crayfish Party in Manila.
How do the Nordics party?
Each seat at the table was provided with a bib to prevent the crayfish juices from getting on our clothes.
Some donned on simple shirts and sports jerseys.
While some gave it their all and went home with prizes to boot!
Even the waitstaff were dressed to match the occasion.
The Bloomfields performed well-loved tunes and renowned DJ Jessica Milner busted out mixes of some popular hits.
The festivities commenced with the ceremonial Swedish drinking song Helan Går, several Nordic drinking games…
…and a live auction of featured pieces and holidays. Proceeds from the auction were given to Chosen Children Village.
After the opening ceremony from NordCham and the Sofitel family, the feast finally began!
The sumptuous Nordic feast highlighted several traditional dishes including Salmon Gravadlax with honey dill mustard sauce…
Swedish meatballs…
and five different kinds of herring.
The hearty appetites of Vikings were matched by the highlight of the feast—an abundance of Crayfish flown in especially for the night, perfectly paired with alcoholic beverages from San Miguel Brewery Inc., Engkanto and Wine Depot.
As the night rolled in, people started getting out of their seats and straight to the dance floor.
The rest of the night was a blur as the beer kept flowing and the tunes just kept getting better and better.
It was a night filled with hearty conversations, excellent food, and merriment, and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
Congrats to Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila for a successful event!
