Orient Beach: Glamping on Boracay Island!

https://flic.kr/p/2csonKf What comes to mind when you hear Orient Beach’s tagline, “The only glamping in the paradise island of Boracay?” Images of a tent, roughing it out and nature flash in my mind as I try to imagine what a glamorous camping experience it would be. If glamping is your thing, read this post on our glamping villa experience at Orient Beach Boracay. ORIENT BEACH BORACAY Hagdan, Yapac, Boracay Island. Malay, Aklan., Boracay, 5608 Telephone: +63 908 892 7543 Website: Boracay Glamping Villa 3 AC Rooms with POOL ★★★★★ First Things First https://flic.kr/p/2dyfjyz Orient Beach’s transfer service is only from Cagban Port to the hotel. You may take the public van + boat transfers on your own from Caticlan airport. https://flic.kr/p/2dyfkgX It is located in Hagdan area in Brgy. Yapak, where the locals on the island live, between Puka Beach and CityMall/Diniwid Beach area. https://flic.kr/p/2dtPtkY Although they have an AirBnb listing for the glamping villa, they are part of Orient Beach Hotel and certified compliant after Boracay opened. https://flic.kr/p/2dtPu7s The first thing you’ll notice is how friendly the staff are and how happy they are to serve you.   Glamping Villa (9,950/night for 6-12 people) Boracay Day 3-25.jpg The glamping villa is located in the center of the property and composed of 3 rooms, a private bathroom and an alfresco balcony area surrounded by plants. https://flic.kr/p/2caFnP2 The entire roof and walls are covered by tent tarp material which adds to the cool ambiance. This wakes you up when it rains though because the sound of raindrops hitting the tarp reverberates in the room. https://flic.kr/p/2caAL1X We loved this alfresco area, where we worked remotely using the strong Globe LTE signal, that also served as a dining area where you can have your own BBQ grill party. https://flic.kr/p/PN9UJB We stayed in the air-conditioned middle room with TV, DVD, Karaoke and a small safety deposit box for your valuables (except laptop). https://flic.kr/p/2caAJsM Welcome fruits in season and Filipino delicacies. 🙂 https://flic.kr/p/2aMGTtA The toilet is clean with hot/cold shower and bamboo walls for an outdoor vibe. https://flic.kr/p/2dtPyuW This is the leftmost room near the entrance door which can easily accomodate 2-4 people. https://flic.kr/p/PN9Zp8 The rooms have electronic locks, and the rightmost room has the microwave oven and the ref.   Amenities https://flic.kr/p/2cspYMY You can use the hotel’s swimming pool where the kids can enjoy after a day at the beach. https://flic.kr/p/2cspZY5 They serve a breakfast buffet at the Veranda restaurant but you can request to have your breakfast in your glamping villa. https://flic.kr/p/PNcLFg We usually assign one day to do some content work and to keep on top of our emails when we travel. https://flic.kr/p/PNcK2e Breakfast is simple Filipino fare with fresh fruits in season. https://flic.kr/p/2dtSnkA One time, they served us our fave Filipino spaghetti when they noticed we were working throughout lunch time. https://flic.kr/p/2aMMJob Just right outside the hotel is a butchery where you can buy meat to grill and a local sari-sari store for your chicha and drinking needs. https://flic.kr/p/RquYUh They have an hourly shuttle service going to Boracay Station 1 which is very helpful, but you can easily take a tricycle to D’mall for 20/personn.   Hotel Room https://flic.kr/p/2dyfmsV You can also stay in the hotel in case you’re with a big group that needs extra rooms. https://flic.kr/p/2caFjer There are two floors and the hotel is built on a sloping terrain so you have to take the stairs all the way up. It’s like doing a staircase exercise every day. https://flic.kr/p/PNe6nc This is how Room 108 looks like. It’s the topmost and last room on the first floor for added privacy. https://flic.kr/p/2caFeh2 The room is clean, simple with basic hotel essentials for those Boracay days when all you need is a place to sleep. https://flic.kr/p/2aMMsCU You have your own private toilet which is clean and simple. https://flic.kr/p/RquFWj It also has basic amenities, but don’t expect too much. https://flic.kr/p/PNeaVa It has a balcony with a view of the residential area of Hagdan.   Final Thoughts https://flic.kr/p/2dtU47N Take note that you have to book the entire glamping villa with 3 rooms for your group. I love the concept of one big tent with 3 rooms, a communal inuman and grilling area for that epic beach vacation. The only thing about glamping is you’ll experience more insect encounters and it gets noisy when it rains. I would recommend this for barkada outings or family getaways with kids who want to live like a local in Boracay with a tent feel but, at the same time, with comfortable amenities. It’s also ideal for that Boracay vacation where you start with a more affordable accommodation before hopping to a hotel resort to end your trip. Best of all, the staff is super helpful, all smiles and ready to make your stay an awesome one. P.S. I do hope they replace the single-use mineral water bottle with a central water dispenser in the glamping villa.

  1. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this location, if you want to experience glamping. The security in the hotel is subpar and the tarp walls leave little for thieves to cut and enter. There is zero security measures in place to prevent anyone into the rooms, when you disclose to the security that you require a shuttle and leave the premises. Even patching holes from previous thieves have not been done.
