Even before its rehabilitation, Boracay has always been my favorite island in the Philippines.
I’ve been to this pristine island six times already but I just keep on coming back.
Apart from being the perfect beach getaway because of its breathtaking beach and crystal clear waters, this small island also has practically everything I need—from restos, to bars, to water activities, not to mention the array of hotels you can choose from to make your stay more memorable.
On my sixth sojourn to Boracay, I stayed in this newly renovated contemporary boutique hotel, The District. It’s conveniently located at the beachfront of Station 2 which is about a 5 min walk away from D’mall.
The District, for me, is by far the best modern boutique hotel for vacationers who want to stay at a convenient location without sacrificing their privacy. It has everything that you’ll ever need all in one place.
Join me as I discover what The District has to offer!

THE ISLAND
The District Hotel is approximately 10-15 minutes away from the main port of Boracay island.
Note: The Hotel provides complimentary Caticlan Airport Transfer (from 5am-6pm) is only an added perk to guests whose bookings are made through their website or with their Reservations Team.
It is conveniently located just a couple of steps away from D-mall and the peaceful beachfront of Station 2.
Here is a glimpse of the newly rehabilitated Boracay. This is the view from the main entrance of the hotel.
This is my first time visiting Boracay after its rehabilitation and closure. So far, I’m really liking the changes and improvements.
THE DISTRICT
Just like the newly rehabilitated Boracay island, The District also got a makeover just last year. They added a couple of modern touches and design elements that gave the hotel a more contemporary feel and modern vibe. This surely is an up to date hotel, I must say.
Rooms in different levels of The District features either a balcony or a veranda with a view of the pool and murals.
We stayed in a spacious deluxe room, which has 2 queen size beds, ideal for small families or groups of 4.
Aside from its striking modern design, the resort also boasts various facilities that are perfect for every modern day traveler.
It has a pool, a gym, a conference room and a roof deck that doubles as a restaurant/events place/viewing deck.
There is also a cozy spa on top of the hotel (room service also available). You can enjoy local and or international massages for all your comfort needs.
Speaking of comfort needs, the hotel also radiates a soothing atmosphere at night with its colorful LEDs that light up the hotel grounds.
THE RESTAURANTS
Aside from its amenities, The District also upgraded its cafés and restaurants which offer a variety of sumptuous Filipino and international cuisines.
Note: : The hotel standard room rates are inclusive of breakfast for 2.
All 3 restaurants, The Star Lounge, The Plenary and The House Brew Café (in photo), are overlooking the beautiful white sand beach and crystal clear blue waters of Boracay.
THE HOUSE BREW CAFE
Perfect for breakfast or lunch, The House Brew Cafe offers healthy and vegetarian meal options. Specialty coffee, pastries and flavorful gelatos are also served here. Perfect for the summer heat!
We ordered a bunch of light and heavy healthy meals. Here’s a peek at my favorite picks:
The Quinoa Tabbouleh (P250) with Malunggay!
The Avocado Toast (P200) which is served on freshly baked country bread with salad greens.
Homemade falafel (P290) with roasted squash topped with garlic tahini dressing.
For dessert, you can never go wrong with their signature Acai Bowl (P290) with coconut juice.
THE PLENARY
The Plenary, the newest restaurant at The District Boracay, is located at the ground floor of the hotel. They serve elevated Filipino cuisines with a twist. Here’s a list of our favorites:
Crispy Pork Sinigang (P320) – fried on its own fat, with calamansi instead of tamarind.
Philippine stew with peanut sauce or Kare Kare Lechon (P370).
The Chorizo Croquettas (P250) made out of Vigan Longganiza with homemade sriracha mayonnaise.
The Plenary is open from 10 am to 11 pm and is perfect for lunch and dinner!
THE STAR LOUNGE
And last but not least, The Star Lounge, an al-fresco events area at the roof deck of the District Boracay—perfect for an intimate private function, corporate events, sunset cocktails or evening grills.
This, I must say, is our favorite restaurant amongst the featured roster. We enjoyed the picturesque Boracay skyline from the comforts of our dinner table. Awesome setup and great food selection.
Our favorites include: An all-time classic thin crust cheesy meat lovers pizza (P500)…
This sizzling yet juicy 300-gram Ribeye Steak (P1,300)…
And the Angus beef burger (P380) with hand-cut fries.
OVERALL
Overall, we loved our stay at The District, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to stay at one of the best contemporary beachfront resorts in Boracay.
With its prime location in Station 2 and a beach that is literally right outside its doorsteps, the resort and restaurants make an ideal staycation for families, group of friends or lovers who wish to explore the island on foot.
What’s more, the resort also takes pride in its personalized service that equals that of higher priced hotel/resorts in the area.
The District has definitely made it on top of my list and is now my new go-to hotel/resort in Boracay for an amazing staycation experience with awesome food to match.
