The Farmer’s Table Tagaytay Experience

📍Nurture Wellness, Tagaytay

📣 Updated Post: Best Filipino Restaurant Meal We Had in Tagaytay (in the Pandemic Era)

Finally, the famed Raintree Restaurant Group behind M Cafe, Chelsea, Friends & Family and Saboten opened their first ever restaurant in Tagaytay! Designed to meet the post-pandemic world’s demand for high ceilings and al fresco dining, it is very close to nature with a healthier farm-to-table selection perfect for building your immunity.

This is the best new destination in Tagaytay for everyone itching to drive out of Manila to eat good food and immerse themselves in a greener environment. Here are some tips for your trip to Farmer’s Table Tagaytay…

Bringing Nature In

Farmer’s Table is located in Nurture Wellness Farms in Tagaytay, replacing their former in-house restaurant called Gabriella. No reservation needed because there is plenty of open space, but we recommend going on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds.

Upon arrival, you are assured that all safety protocols are in place for the entire duration of your stay.

You’ll love the high ceiling al fresco ambiance that will make you feel like eating safely in the middle of a garden.

The interiors were redesigned to let nature in to the dining experience, with mix-and-match furniture reused from other Raintree Restaurants to give an upcycle feel amidst the greens.

This is our favorite spot in the left wing of the restaurant because it has better airflow and faster internet signal, a place where you can set up your work-from-anywhere space for the day.

Nurture Wellness specializes on kale products and other freshly harvested produce you can take home.

Chef Kalel Chan

Awesome to see Chef Kalel Chan challenged to bring out the best of the farm’s produce in the menu and balance comfort food vs. healthy food.

They have their own garden which they actually use for the herbs, greens and vegetables in their menu.

Farner’s Table Menu: The Farmer’s Table Salad Patch, Soup It Up!, Snacks & Small Plates, Pizza, Farmhouse Specials, Stewed | Roasts & Grills | Fermented & Pickled, Big Breakfast, Brunch Faves & Comfort Classics | Dessert

You’ll be satisfied if you are looking for healthy immune boosting/plant-based food and, at the same time, if you are craving for your Filipino favorites like Bone Marrow Bulalao and Beef Kare Kare sa Buntot.

What’s on the Farmer’s Table?

We binged drink on Kale Pineapple juice, the signature drink at Nurture Wellness.

House-made Labneh & Fresh Tomato Salad (₱350). Topped with fresh herbs, malunggay-basil pesto & served with Mediterranean bread

We loved their house made soft cheese that was both rich and tangy and tasted well with tomato, fresh herbs and pesto and eaten with mediterranean bread.

Hothouse Crispy Cauliflower & Broccoli (₱275). Spicy Buffalo Sauce, Blue Cheese Dip

This is the best in their appetizer list—cauliflower that is crispy and tastes like Korean Fried Chicken. Must order!

Plant-based Kale Caesar salad (₱395). Kale & Romaine, Topped with Fresh Basil, Tofu Croutons, Crispy Garbanzos & Capers, Cashew Caper Lemon Caesar Dressing

Good for vegans who prefer their Caesar salad without eggs, though we still prefer our usual Caesar dressing I guess.

Kale Chips & Dip (₱250). Malunggay-Basil Pesto Mayonnaise

A good version of the Kapampangan favorite that uses healthier kale instead, not too oily and with a healthier mayo boosted with malunggay and basil nutrients.

Smoked Tinapa Cream Croquetas (6 pcs. – ₱325). Topped with Tobiko, Tartar Sauce, Fresh Dill & Lemon

A Filipino version of the Spanish croquettes with smoky salty fish (tinapa) with tartar and tobiko.

One House-made Grilled Plant-based Burger (₱495). Mediterranean Spiced Garlic Dill Yogurt, Mesclun, Tomatoes, Sweet Red Onions, Caramelized Onions, Pineapple Ketchup, Flash Dill Pickles, Carrot & Celery Sticks

Chef Kalel’s version of a plant-based burger with the patty made from a mixture of tofu and mushroom with layers of vegetables so fresh you can taste their sweetness with a crunch.

Grilled Giant Bangus Smothered in Two Sauces (₱720). Fresh herb chimichurri, sambal salsa, fresh lime & cilantro

Grilled Milkfish topped with malunggay basil topping and sambal salsa which we preferred. Better to order this with the sambal and chimichurri on the side to have your options.

Satisfying Finish

Freshly Baked Cookies & Warm Milk (₱320) served with warm Cinnamon Vanilla Milk

Recognizing that we all deserve sweet endings specially during these times, Farmer’s Table serve freshly baked cookies and their signature cakes.

Our Famous-Ube Champorado (₱220). Topped with Fried Danggit

Glad to see their signature Ube Champorado topped with fried danggit that’s good for breakfast or merienda was available.

Impossible Cake (₱295)

We were craving for M Cafe’s Langka Sansrival, but it was not available so we went for the next best, a chocolate cake topped with leche flan, which they say is impossible to bake together.

Mango Suman “Sushi” (₱295). Rolled in Toasted Sesame Seeds, Served with Native Hot Amadeo Chocolate Eh!

Another signature dessert at Nurture—for those times you want to go for the suman, mango and tsokolate combination.

Caramelized Banana & Hazelnut Brioche French Toast (₱495). Two pieces buttered brioche stuffed with Hazelnut Spread Hand-Whipped Cream, Topped with Rosemary Peanut Brittle & served with Butter & Maple Syrup

The brioche French toast is best eaten mixed together with the caramelized banana, a bit of whipped cream, butter and maple syrup and then paired with their coffee. 🙂

Final Thoughts

Congratulations to Martin Wisniewski and Chef Kalel Chan of the Raintree Group and Cathy Turville of Nurture Wellness for a great collaboration project coming out of the pandemic, leveraging on the delicious restaurant concept of Raintree combined with Nurture Wellness farms and its fresh produce.

Overall, Farmer’s Table is the perfect post-pandemic restaurant concept that leverages on al fresco high-ceiling ambiance, the Tagaytay weather and the fresh farm produce of Nurture Wellness.

What I like about Farmer’s Table is that they offer not only healthy, immunity boosting food but also Tagaytay’s Filipino comfort food favorites. Although we only featured the healthier options in the menu in this post, don’t forget you can always order Bulalo or Kare Kare when you’re craving for them. This is not the kind of healthy place where you go hungry then eat fast food afterwards.

Hopefully soon when wellness massages are allowed, this would be a great place to escape and go on a date to boost your immunity with nature and healthy food coupled with relaxing massages or health treatments. Imagine getting a foot massage in nature’s safe embrace and then eating immunity boosting food after.

Congratulations Raintree Group X Nurture Wellness!!
