Sheraton Manila provides an awesome family staycation experience in Manila because of the stunning Vega pool, good food at S Kitchen and Oori Korean, and the thoughtfully designed rooms for the best staycation experience. They now have Shine Spa for the parent’s relaxation and a safe outdoor Vubble dining experience, both of which were not there yet during our first stay. This is now our family’s favorite staycation in the metro specially with the new normal protocols.
Here are some tips and tricks for your next awesome family staycation at Sheraton Manila.

Choose your Sheraton Room Adventure

This is the basic staycation room with a king bed and a front seat view of the airport action.

Our family’s favorite is the deluxe room with a balcony and an awesome view of the Vega pool. This feels more like you are in a resort for staycation vs. the airport view which is more business-like.

This room with a private outdoor jacuzzi is what I want for our next staycation anniversary (no kids allowed). Order dine-in, enjoy the jacuzzi night and day with your special someone.

For a smaller family with two kids, this special loft room is exciting—with the parents in the main bedroom with high ceiling while the kids have their own escape in the loft room with a view of the airport.

For the ultimate staycation, get the suite room with a spacious sala area where the family can congregate and enjoy in-room dining.
Sheraton Deluxe Room with Balcony

Our family stayed in a deluxe connecting room with balcony. I loved hanging out in the room—it was spacious that you just want to chillax.

The bed was so comfy that we always wanted to work, sleep, or watch a movie here.

Syoti Yugi would hangout all day in the bath tub in between Vega pool sessions.

The toilet amenities are well thought of with natural ingredients and with sustainability in mind, using big refillable bottles vs. the small one-time use plastic bottles.

Rache loved the bubbly San Pellegrino while I liked my red wine pairing with our meal. A chocolate cake and a hand-written note are always the best welcome treats to make one feel at home.

The connecting room with two queen beds was very comfortable for the boys. We always have to book two rooms now for us to fit and for the kids to have their own TV to enjoy their own shows.

Internet was quite fast and I could comfortably do my live streaming setup here.
It’s always awesome to wake up to this awesome view of The Vega Pool.
The Vega Pool // All Day Swimming

The Vega Pool is humongous, the best staycation pool in Manila.

You can happily hang out with your friends or family.
(Note: There’s no sunset view from here because it is blocked by the buildings.)

You can see the Vubble dining setup all around the pool for outdoor private dining with protection from virus infections and the rain.

They don’t use chlorine but a more natural salt cleaning process. The water is reused in the cooling system of the hotel.

On staycations, we usually take the family shot first when we arrive because, at some point, everyone will have his own favorite side of the pool.

Yes, you can reserve your own private 1-hour jacuzzi session located just beside the Vega pool.
S Kitchen All Day Dining

S Kitchen all day dining buffet has everything the kids and parents like.
Breakfast

Breakfast was for the kids since us parents were doing intermittent fasting.
They loved the pancake and waffles, and customize it with loads of small marshmallows.

And of course unli-cereals with fresh milk!

The boys love rice and sausages and bacon and we encourage them to eat their veggies.

There’s a good selection of breads and Anchor butter to enjoy with your hot choco or coffee.

They also have a good selection of palaman like pesto butter, cream cheese, etc.
Lunch/ Dinner

Our favorite soup was the Laksa with a creamy coconut curry consistency. Sarap!

Loved the salad setup. We always encourage the fam to start the buffet with a healthy salad.

Everyone indulged in their favorite sushi and sashimi with 2-3 servings.

You can also order fresh oysters a la carte. Check out their Fresh Oysters Menu.

I loved the fresh meat selection. They only cook upon order according to your liking.

Loved that they served it with a nice presentation, not just cooked meat on a plate.

The fresh seafood selection was also good, cooked in butter garlic or to your own liking.

Unii-salmon is always the best and we love to indulge on healthy premium seafood.

Check out their Filipino and Asian stations also with different curated dishes for the night.

Chargrilled BBQ is also the best here, but make sure to order ahead because this could take some time to cook as it is in demand.
Dessert

For dessert, we loved their homemade ice cream selection

If available, we usually go for crepe for dessert.

But for me, the Halo Halo is still the best, and I usually reserve my dessert calories for this.
Don’t miss the 12-Hands Kollaboration at S-Kitchen for your staycation this July!
Oori Unlimited Korean

It’s been a long time since we had an unlimited Korean BBQ with the family.

Unlimited Korean BBQ | Bibimbap Classics, Street Food Favorites, Pancake, Noodle
This is a nice place for milestone celebrations or for satisfying cravings for really good Korean food.
They use good quality charcoal with an exhaust suction under the table instead of overhead.

The Unli-Korean BBQ is served with 5 special ban chan choices and sauces. We loved the kimchi, fish cake, spicy cucumber, and egg.

Had to take it easy on the noodles even if it was good to enjoy the meat more.

Loved this soybean soup to tease the palate and even clean it in between bites.

Korean BBQ is best enjoyed with vegetables para hindi nakakasawa.

The Pork Belly Samgyup was a hit as always. Also the beef top blade for a more meaty bite.

The kids learned how to cook their own Korean BBQ and to eat it by wrapping it in vegetables.

The Bingsu Korean shaved ice with fruits is always a treat and the best ending to the grilled Korean BBQ experience.

Make sure to reserve the private rooms for a safe and exclusive dining experience.
Vubble Dining

You can reserve a private dining Vubble setup for a maximum of 8 in a vubble with food from the S Kitchen menu.

The meal was a 4-course fine dining experience starting with bread and butter service.

Next was the salad and, since it was a fine dining setup, they served one portion per person.
(Tip: Instead of the same food per person, maybe it is better to order family dining style.)

The boys loved the steak cooked medium—delicious even without the sauce. Plus, it went well with the red wine for the adults.
(Note: Take note of the cooking time. Vubble dining is intentionally slow so that you can enjoy each other’s company longer.)

(Preparation time: 45 mins)
Likewise, we enjoyed the fine quality of the salmon cooked just right with a nice sear outside.
(Order family dining style instead of a set menu so that you can enjoy more dishes.)

Rache enjoyed all the cakes, and we all got our own sampler plates that each of us finished.

Congratulations to S Kitchen Executive Chef Kiko Santiago for an awesome Vubble dining experience! Highly recommended for a romantic milestone celebration or a family bonding session over wine and drinks.

Vubble experience was awesome—dining under the stars, enjoying fine-quality food with the comfort of air-condltioning, and having a transparent igloo-like encasement to protect from viruses and the rain.
(Note: The Vega Pool is usually closed during this time so you won’t see people in the pool. Also, you can’t use the pool and eat inside the vubble in wet attire. )
Shine Spa

You can have access to the gym 24×7 with your room card access. Best to exercise before the spa experience.

Yes, finally they now have a spa where the parents can enjoy away from the kids even for a while.

Loved the jacuzzi, steam room, and one of the best Hilot massages we had in a long time.
(Note: Last call is around 8pm and they need time to prepare the Jacuzzi and keep it hot.)
Final Thoughts

Overall, this is the Best Family Staycation we had in Manila so far because of:
✅ The Deluxe Room with an outdoor balcony overlooking the pool. You feel you are going on staycation in a resort at the center of an urban setting. The other room options feel like you are locked down in the room. Even if you don’t have room view of the airport, you can see the airport from the elevator lobby.
✅ The Vega Pool is the best staycation pool in Manila with its warm temperature, non-use of chlorine, and the sustainable way they reuse the water. Only thing lacking is a decent view of the sunset which is blocked by the hotel buildings creating that enclave feel.
✅ The buffet at S Kitchen where most of the food are prepared upon order and where they have interesting Kollaborations for the specialty dishes. For a more private dining experience, reserve one of the vubbles for your last night of staycation. Make sure to book an unlimited Korean BBQ for lunch during your stay.
✅ The experience of being wet most of the time—from swimming at the Vega Pool, hanging out in the bathtub, and enjoying the outdoor Jacuzzi or the one in the Shine Spa.
Congratulations to the Sheraton Manila team for an awesome staycation experience in Manila! Good job guys!
