POV: We surprised Yugi on his 8th birthday with a penthouse suite staycation at B Hotel Alabang, good Filipino food, and a private outdoor hot tub experience with the boys. He thought we were going to McDonald’s to just grab a cheeseburger and a sundae to satisfy his birthday request.
Yugi loved every moment—from the comfy beds to the balloon popping, to the in-room dining (specially the breakfast), to the outdoor hot tub time with merienda.

Permitted Guests to present any of the following:
1. Proof of vaccination for fully vaccinated adults (18 years old and above);
2. Negative antigen or saliva RT-PCR test result 48 hours before check-in for unvaccinated adults (18 years old and above);
3. None for minors (below 18 years old) regardless of vaccination status as along as accompanied by fully vaccinated adults.
You can ask for help from the B Hotel team to do simple birthday celebration decors with lots of balloons. We also brought our own balloons because Yugi loves popping lots of balloons.
The Penthouse Suite measures 47 to 51 sqm with 1 king bed and a work area equipped with central air conditioning, satellite/cable LED TV, free fast Wi-Fi access, and in-room safe.
It can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children (with extra bed if needed).
The bathroom has a bathtub, which is important for the birthday boy, and a separate shower area and toilet. The liquid soap and shampoo are in refillable containers for sustainability.
We loved the spacious living and dining areas with a modular kitchen and a business district view of Alabang.
We loved the family picture and handwritten note to welcome us to our penthouse staycation.
These days, we prefer intimate in-room dining to celebrate with the family safely.
Prime Cafe Food
Prime Cafe, specializing on Filipino cuisine and some Japanese dishes, is the only restaurant outlet in the hotel that provides all-day dining .

The boys love their steak cooked well done, with buttered vegetables and their own mushroom gravy. This is one of the dishes the boys keep fighting over but we always emphasize “hating kapatid”.
We also liked their Kare Kare with creamy smooth peanutty sauce, which was a bit sweet and paired well with their salty bagoong. The crispy texture of the pork cut through the thick sauce. Best to eat with plain white rice. So good. 🙂
The caldereta has a thick tomato sauce reduction with burnt melted cheese on top. Sarap din!
For long life, it’s always tradition to have noodles in any celebration. The B Hotel Pancit Guisado did not disappoint and was not too heavy. Still malasa even the next day.
The boys loved the Carbonara with the penne absorbing the sauce. This was gone in seconds.
This was served with tall crispy noodles, with the sauce poured table side and mixed with the palabok noodles and ingredients to whet the appetite. Way better than Jollibee, but I like my palabok to have more salty shrimp and more crunch from the roasted garlic.
Thank you to Chef Andrea for the awesome Filipino food during our stay! She also serves Japanese comfort food like ramen and katsudon that the kids loved. 🙂
Birthday Cake
Get the best birthday cake in Alabang from Sainte Anne Cakes Manila, known for their freshly homebaked cakes made in small batches with real fruits and all-natural ingredients.
Before going to B Hotel, pick up your cake at #157 Guava, Ayala Alabang, c/o Kristine Yeung.
(Note: Cake is best consumed on the day it is picked up so make sure to keep the cake refrigerated once received. Good for 1-2 days only.)
Birthday is not complete without the best sansrival in Pampanga—Pitang’s Sansrival.
About Pitang’s Bakeshop
Pitang’s Bakeshop and Café was founded by the children of Josefa Henson Narciso as a tribute to her delicious and enjoyed-by-everyone pastries. Through the years, her recipes were kept alive by her children and passed on from generation to generation. These cakes and pastries are personally prepared by Josefa’s daughters; made with the finest ingredients and baked to perfection.
The business started on a made-to-order basis for family friends. The networks grew from close family friends and relatives to friend’s of friends and so on. From this, the children decided to put up a bakeshop and spread the wonderful goodness Josefa passed on to her children.

The sansrival was dense, with alternating layers of crisp and chewy meringue with most of the butter icing on top. Not to sweet—with toasted cashew slivers to cut through the sweetness. Addicting on the first bite. Ang sarap!

In-Room Breakfast
We preferred having our breakfast in-room with a good morning view of Alabang.
The tocino was the best—well marinated, meaty and best dipped in vinegar. All the boys loved it.
We loved their Tapsilog, with a big meaty serving, marinated with a sweet salty flavor. Sarap!
Birthday Mass
St. Jerome Emiliani and Sta. Susana Parish Mass Schedule
When staying over the weekend, celebrate mass at St. Jerome at 11:00am, the perfect time just before lunch.
(Tip: Make sure to arrive 30 minutes earlier to secure a spot inside the air-conditioned church.)
B Hotel can arrange the drop off and pick you up after mass.
Outdoor Hot Tub
The outdoor tub is heated and treated to make sure you get a clean and safe private hot tub session.
(Note: they are fixing the blowers to complete the Jacuzzi-like experience.)
It’s located on the 2nd floor and you have to enter the door leading to the gym.
Make sure to book your outdoor tub session upon check-in. You can also order snacks.

We loved the nachos, cheese sticks, calamares and their crunchy sisig on a sizzling plate.
The best part was night swimming in the rain in a heated tub! Sarap. 🙂
Azurea Massage
Azurea Spa Services | Retreats and Other Services
We had the best Swedish Massage from the Azurea Spa of Bellevue Manila. So good!
Usually the one hour massage is ₱1,100, but you can also use the spa facilities there like their sauna and jacuzzi at Bellevue. At B Hotel, they charge ₱700 only for in-room massage.
Final Thoughts
B Hotel Staycations are the best if you are looking for an affordable penthouse staycation for your next family celebrations. The kids raved about how comfortable the bed was and how they were able to sleep soundly. I love the in-room dining with Chef Andre’s Filipino food and the thoughtful effort with the birthday decor plus the nice family portrait touches. Best of all, you can have an outdoor hot tub session all to yourselves while enjoying merienda.
It’s a good urban escape. You are still near the mall if you want to watch a last full show or go on a birthday shopping spree. Don’t forget to celebrate mass for the birthday celebrant!
