Amare La Cucina is now open in Nuvali, having transferred from its original Paseo de Sta. Rosa location. It’s fascinating how Amare from Baguio was able to expand to 12 branches rapidly (without franchising) by being an equity partner in all of its branches. It is known for its brick-oven specialties which are not limited to just pizza and pasta but include Tomahawk steaks as well.

About Amare Nuvali
Amare La Cucina is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria in Baguio founded by a local, Edmark Bustos.
The name means “to love a kitchen” in Italian. Edmark, who is no trained chef, shows this love through his passion for cooking and experimentation. This drove him to open his own restaurant, which first started in his home until it became the go-to place for good pizza in Baguio.
The name AMARE is also a deliberate combination of the names of the Bustos siblings—Alvin, Marianne, and Edmark.

We loved Amare’s wood fire brick oven specialties, from their Neapolitan-style pizza to baked pastas and brick-oven cooked steaks! Here are our recommendations.
Appetizers
Loved this super cheesy raclette where you can dip the small pizza slices to kick off the meal.
Order the salad with the burrata specially the one with arugula and prosciutto.
Get the platter feat. their best fried appetizers, fried chicken nuggets, fries, and cheese balls.
Pizza & Pasta
My personal favorite, with cheesy topping and spinach to balance the flavor. Sarap!
The Truffle Pasta is always a favorite with the kids and I like it with lots of grated cheese.
A cheese overload pizza topped with tomato, walnuts, ham, and greens to balance it.
My personal favorite—baked pasta served hot from the oven with stretchy cheese.
Another good alternative pizza with a bit of pesto sauce and bacon.
Garlicky pasta with paprika spice and Spanish sardines for a salty fish combination.
This pizza, served with Italian sausage and tomatoes, was named by Mikey Bustos.
Entree
Loved the charred goodness and tender wood-fried ribs. Sarap into!
The meats were best eaten with Italian red wines, and their house wine was decent.
They also serve chicken wings for pica pica and for pairing with the pizza and pasta.
Best of all, they have the best steaks in Nuvali—their brick oven cooked Tomahawk steak!
We loved Amare’s Tomahawk Steak because of the wood-fire oven charred goodness and the tenderness of the steak. Served with fries, pasta, and vegetables. Perfect for celebrations.
Get their special Italian red wine to serve with the steak! Sarap nito. 🙂
The tomahawk was served sliced with medium to medium well doneness and good by itself.
Desserts
They are one of the first to serve this Nutella pizza dessert served a la mode. The kids loved this.
I always love a simple vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso to satisfy my dessert cravings.
The roasted mallows went well with the Speculoos and a bit of the ice cream, parang nasa campfire ka lang.
Final Thoughts
Overall, one of the best pizzerias in Nuvali that serves the best steak in Sta. Rosa!
This is perfect for family celebrations when you are in Solenad in Nuvali because the atmosphere is festive, the kids love the food, and they sing you a happy birthday on your special day. They also have more space. Reserve the high table in the middle.
I would recommend to start with the RACLETTE DIP and BURRATA ARUGULA PROSCIUTTO. For pizza and pasta, we recommend the QUATTRO-FORMAGGI SPINACH PIZZA, 6 CHEESE PIZZA, and ULTIMATE CHEESE PASTA. For the main meats, you got to try their WOOD-FRIED RIBS and TOMAHAWK STEAK! For dessert, end with the NUTELLA PIZZA and AFFOGATO. Budget about ₱1,000/head on the average or ₱2,500/head with the steak & wine.
Most of the food are good specially the wood-fired dishes because of the different char, tenderness and the served-hot-from-the-oven quality. I must admit though this is carbo overload from start to finish so make sure to schedule this on your indulgent cheat day or your next celebration.
