Best of LIME El Nido & Celebrity Chef Series

LIME EL NIDO is one of the hottest hotels to open on El Nido mainland. It is located in Brgy. Corong Corong, about 15-20 minutes away from the airport and Lio Beach. LIME Resorts is named after its owner Emil Po (first name spelled backwards) and inspired by the refreshing flavor and color of lime. Our Lime El Nido trip coincided with the launch of the Celebrity Chef Series featuring our friend Chef Sau of Sawsaw fame.

SKY SUITES

Air conditioner, 42-inch smart cable TV, Wi-Fi, coffee and tea facility, mini refrigerator, in-room safe, writing desk, separate bath and toilet, bidet, hair dryer, robe, slippers, balcony, sunbeds, jacuzzi, hot and cold shower, bathroom amenities and towels, seating area, seaview.

This literally feels like your suite is located in the sky with the spacious balcony overlooking the beautiful panorama of Bacuit Bay and El Nido’s limestone cliffs.

The best part is getting to enjoy your own private outdoor jacuzzi with the El Nido Sunset as backdrop.

BEST SUNSET SPOT

Sunset view from the 5th floor Sky Suites

Lime El Nido has one of the best sunset views in El Nido so make sure to get a seaview room.

Panoramic View from the 7th floor Sky Lounge

Most guests enjoy the sunset view from the Sky Lounge (7th floor) with the infinity pool.

Sunset view from the 8th floor Sky Deck

You can also go up the El Sol Rooftop Sunset Bar (8th floor via stairs) for a high vantage view of the El Nido sunset. This Sky Deck is where they hold private celebrations and events.

CELEBRITY CHEF SERIES

The Celebrity Chef Series, featuring guest Chef Sau del Rosario of Sawsaw and Cafe Fleur, kicked off last March 15 and will end June 30.

Chef Sau has refined his culinary craft not only in the Philippines but also in other parts of the world. Throughout his more than 20-year experience, he has mastered the art of Filipino cuisine, putting his own distinct touches in the process.

With the food scene in El Nido getting competitive these days, Lime El Nido is presenting Chef Sau’s food, which you can order a la carte, to make your island tour more special.

Sisig Pampanguena (β‚±575). Thrice-cooked Pork Cheek and Belly, Calamansi, Chili, and Fish Crackers

This authentic Kapampangan Sisig is a great pica pica for your sunset session.

Kinilaw na Tanigue (β‚±350). Coconut, cilantro, and Lime

Chef Sau’s Kinilaw is served with a colorful array of herbs and flowers and topped with inure. Yum!

Crispy Pork (β‚±650). Belly in Macadamia Kare Kare Sauce

One of the best Kare Kares in town is served with macadamia kare kare sauce and crispy pork belly.

U.S. Lengua Pastel (β‚±975) with Manchego and Truffle

Super soft beef cheeks with shredded manchego and truffle sauce. Goes well with white rice.

Lamb Shank Caldereta (β‚±1,650) with Goat Cheese

This is one of the best celebration dishes β€” Lamb shank in caldereta sauce with goat cheese chunks to cut through the thickness of the tomato sauce.

Pan Seared Tanigue with Aligue Sauce  (β‚±650)

Fresh Tanigue seared and bathed in an umami of aligue sauce.

LIME ISLAND TOUR

Lime Island Tour (β‚±3,000/head). The Celebrity Chef Series aims to level up this service by going the extra mile. On top of a well-curated menu, food will be served hot and fresh, with guests made comfortable with a cozy table set-up, completing the perfect island experience.

Lime El Nido wants to set its island tour apart from the rest by serving a high-end boodle fight created by Chef Sau.

Lime El Nido has its own speed boat for island hopping in style.

Lobster in Garlic Butter Sauce, Chicken Inasal

Fresh Lobsters in Palawan, served with a bowl of Garlic Butter Sauce to enjoy with white rice, are the best. The chicken Inasal is cooked on site so you get to taste the smoky inasal flavor.

Seafood Platter

Yes, you can feast on a seafood platter of shrimps, mussels, and squid.

Crispy Pata

They also serve one of the best crispy patas in Manila, with crisp skin and fall-off-the-bones meat.

Pork Barbecue, Ensaladang Talong with Salted Egg, Fruit Platter, Buko Juice

The boodle also comes with pork barbecue skewers, ensaladang talong with salted egg (which you can mash with your rice), fresh fruit dessert like mango, and buko juice for drinks.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, I was impressed with the architectural design of Lime El Nido that incorporates an awesome panorama of the limestone cliffs and Bacuit Bay.

If you are going for a celebration, make sure to get a seaview room or the Sky Suites with the outdoor Jacuzzi for a memorable escape in El Nido. Best of all, don’t miss Chef Sau’s Filipino Food and Island Tour Boodle Fight menu for the summer season. Our favorites include: Crispy Pork Belly Kare Kare, US Lengua Pastel, Lamb Shank Caldereta, Crispy Pata, and Lobster with Garlic Butter.

Although the hotel is located near the shore, they don’t have a good beach swimming area. Also, you’ll hear a lot of complaints about the sewer odor which you can smell in the lobbies, elevators and toilets. Hope they can fix this. Service is friendly, helpful but provincial. Make sure to coordinate with them if you want your room cleaned.

Congrats to Chef Sau and Emil Po for an awesome collaboration with the Celebrity Chef Series!

P.S. The elevators can also be confusing. You have to go to the 2nd elevator at the back to get to the 7th floor and you can can only access the 8th floor via stairs from the Sky Lounge. The front elevator only serves rooms up to the 6th floor.
