King Chef, West Avenue branch, was the perfect venue for my love’s surprise golden birthday celebration. Spacious and new, with red and gold lauriat tables, the staff were very helpful in making our surprise party a success.
50 is a significant milestone, and we’re grateful to God for blessing us with it. We wanted to celebrate with our closest family and friends over a sumptuous lauriat feast.

The West Avenue branch is large and has several private tables that are always in high demand. Be sure to reserve in advance, especially for auspicious occasions like the Mid-Autumn celebrations last weekend.
We reserved the Song and Jin room near the bukana. Each lauriat table can comfortably seat 12 people. The large portions are good for one table. We ordered the Best of King Chef.

🥟 Big Dimsum Platter (All Steamed)
King Chef is known for its dim sum, the perfect appetizer for any lauriat feast. It satisfies everyone’s dim sum cravings, but leaves enough room for the main course.
🦆 Peking Duck 2 ways (1 Whole – ₱3,200)
We love roast Peking duck, and it’s always a treat. No lauriat celebration is complete or feels special without it.
One duck is good for one table, and each one is appetizingly prepared tableside.
The duck meat and crisp skin were wrapped in pancakes with onions and hoisin sauce. These were devoured in minutes.
🦀 Crabroe Soup (L)
This is comfort soup for us: hot soup with egg and crab roe to prepare your stomach.
🦐 Suahe in Tea Leaves (700g)
I love the presentation of the suahe cooked in tea leaves with a bamboo-woven fish net.
🐟 Lapu-lapu with Pomelo Sauce (700g)
The Lapu-lapu with sweet citrusy sauce was good, but I think I’ll have it steamed next time.
🐖 Boneless Patatim w/ Buns (₱1,080)
The boneless Pata Tim was served with a silky smooth sauce and a delightful mouthfeel.
The best way to eat it is as a stuffing inside their freshly steamed buns. Kids love this!
🍜 Birthday Noodles (L)
As the tradition goes,, birthday noodles with golden eggs are served for a longer and prosperous life.
🐤 Minced Duck with Lettuce
The duck 2nd way is served as minced duck with lettuce bowls as the end of the main course.
The family loves buchi and fights over each sesame seed-coated ball with a delicious filling.
🥭 Mango Sago (L – ₱900)
As classic as ever, a properly prepared mango sago for a sweet lauriat finish.
Someone once told me that your 50th birthday comes only once in a lifetime, so it’s important to celebrate and offer thanksgiving to our Lord God for such a blessing of close friends and family.
I recently discussed with Rache how our 50th birthday celebration was much smaller than our 40th celebration. As you get to know people, you realize who your true friends and family are. You cherish the special ones, who are a true blessing in your life.
