Oriental Palace is one of the beloved Cantonese restaurants in Tomas Morato with a floor area of 1,500sqm and a seating capacity of 800 persons. In 1978, a young chef from Hong Kong introduced Wah Yuen in Escolta, Manila, captivating commuters with a menu featuring noodles, dim sum, and distinctive dishes. Evolving into Oriental Palace, now situated along Tomas Morato and approaching its 10th anniversary in November, the Chua family persists in upholding traditions and sharing authentic Cantonese cuisine with succeeding generations of Filipinos.
ABOUT ORIENTAL PALACE

In 1978, Mr. Chua and his son Henry launched a noodle and dimsum shop, Wah Yuen, near the newly opened Escolta station of Love Bus. By the early 1980s, Henry had assumed control and, with hard work and vision, transformed the small shop into a thriving Chinese restaurant, expanding its offerings.
The legacy of quality Chinese cuisine endures through Henry’s children. The third generation later adopted the English trade name Oriental Palace, ensuring the continuation of the family’s culinary heritage.

Oriental Palace Restaurant, exclusively operated by Chinese Garden Best Food Inc., is a casual family dining establishment that serves authentic and high-quality Chinese food, with a focus on Cantonese cuisine. The company, founded in May 2014, initiated its operations in November 2014.

Following recent renovations, the establishment preserved entrances along Scout Gandia and Scout De Guia streets while closing the entrance along Tomas Morato. Operating from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm for lunch and 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm for dinner, Oriental Palace welcomes patrons with its refined culinary offerings.

Oriental Palace distinguishes itself in the realm of Chinese restaurants by preserving genuine Cantonese flavors under the guidance of a Hong Kong-trained chef and minimizing the use of MSG. Its appeal spans from quick, casual meals to extravagant banquets, consistently drawing loyal patrons with a diverse menu that includes live seafood, Hong Kong roasts, and dim sum, catering to a broad range of age groups.
WE RECOMMEND:

Lychee-Style Handmade Fried Prawn Balls (L – ₱1,760)
The prawn balls are colored red to resemble picking lychee from a tree. The presentation was impressive, and the balls themselves were delicious and paired perfectly with the wasabi sauce.

1kg Steamed Live Suahe
The Suahe is perfect as a pulutan, best enjoyed by peeling it with your hands, savoring the juices from the shrimp heads, and biting into the plump, freshly cooked shrimps.

Pork Spareribs with Taosi (₱128)
Fried Spring Roll (₱188)
Hakaw (₱168)
Pork & Shrimp Siomai (₱158)
Pan Fried Radish Cake (₱188)
Fried Cuapao (₱128)
Their dimsum game is on pointl, and sometimes all you crave is a satisfying hakaw and siomai paired with garlic chili. The fried golden buns are especially delectable when enjoyed with condensed milk.

Fried Oysters in XO Sauce (L – ₱1,240)
Delectable combination of fried aphrodisiac bites featuring juicy oysters, perfect when paired with your favorite whisky. Sarap nito but nakaka-high.

Chicken Pie (₱1,200)
This Chicken Pie is their special offering for the Chinese New Year, featuring a delicious crust and creamy chicken filling.

Roast Meat Platter (L – ₱1,560)
They offer a robust variety of Cantonese-style roasted meats served with jellyfish and century egg.

Polonchay Tofu with Dried Scallop Sauce (L – ₱900)
A vegetarian delight that you can savor, especially the polonchay soaked in the rich scallop sauce and mushroom flavors. Resembling a spinach-like texture, it is best enjoyed alongside pillowy soft tofu for a delightful contrast.

Beef Tenderloin in Black Pepper Sauce (L – ₱1,760)
This dish, featuring super tender beef absorbing a smothering of black pepper sauce, is one of their best sellers. It is best enjoyed with a bit of onions and fried rice.

Sweet and Sour Pork (L – ₱1,000)
One of the finest sweet and sour pork dishes in town, featuring a lighter breading that allows the pork flavor to shine through. It boasts crispy edges, a balanced sweetness, and pairs exceptionally well with their yang chow.

500g × 3pc Steam Crab Garlic
Enjoyed eating these three large crabs, freshly steamed and cooked in oil and garlic. Sucking the garlic flavors and tasting the freshness of the meat from the large claws and fatty interior is an experience we always look forward to.
