MITA Kitchen + Lounge is a cozy tribute to the family’s beloved matriarch, affectionately called Mama Mita. A restaurant-lounge evolution of its original café in BF, MITA serves Euro-Asian plates inspired by the family’s travels, blending comfort and sophistication in every dish. Complementing the menu is a well-curated cocktail list, perfect for lingering conversations and relaxed gatherings with friends.
ABOUT

We first visited MITA Kitchen + Lounge during the media preview and later returned to celebrate my mom’s birthday with our BCBP group. The food and service have steadily improved from a concept that once had more misses than hits. As the family’s first full-service restaurant, it’s inspiring to see their consistent progress in such a competitive space.

The ambiance feels like a deconstructed Filipino home, with cozy accents and soft lighting in a low-ceiling space. However, the acoustics could use some improvement, as it can get quite noisy when the restaurant is full. For a more comfortable experience, reserve the lounge area or the long tables if you’re dining with a big group.

FAVORITES

Kare Kare Paella 880
Modern twist on the Filipino classic with peanut sauce, vegetables, and rice done the paella way.
The Kare Kare Paella was the highlight of our meal — rice cooked paella-style and soaked in rich Kare Kare sauce, then topped with vegetables, chunks of ox tripe, and a side of sweet bagoong that completes the dish. good to share.

Braised Short Rib 1,080
Fork-tender beef short ribs. Served with mashed potatoes and red wine jus.
I loved the tender meat and gelatinous muscle ligaments served over creamy mashed potatoes and rich red wine jus. It’s a good dish for sharing and pairs perfectly with the Kare Kare Paella.

Mitas Signature Steak 1,100 per 100g
Premium beef topped with Bone Marrow Butter. Minimum order of 400g.
During the media preview, everyone raved about this dish. Mita’s Signature Steak is topped with bone marrow butter, torched and melted tableside for extra richness. It’s quite good — while there are other steak options around Molito, this one makes a solid choice for special celebrations.

Salmon in Anchovy Caper Sauce 580
Salmon fillet with anchovy caper sauce.
This is my mom’s go-to dish, and we used to head to Conti’s just for it — but Mita’s offers a better alternative with its homey yet elevated ambiance and comfortable seating. The dish itself is well-executed: juicy, not overcooked, with crisp skin and edges, and topped with anchovy and caper flavors that add a savory punch.

Truffle Pasta 420
Linguini with truffle cream sauce.
Kids always love carbonara, and this truffle cream version is a hit — the pasta is cooked just right, rich and flavorful. Definitely Yugi-approved.
SALAD
Their salad game is on point — the vegetables are fresh, and the dressing is just enough to coat them lightly. I love the pugo-like cheese balls in the House Salad, while the Pako Salad is a refreshing standout.

House Salad 320
Mixed mesclun with candied nuts, chicken skin, and fried cheese, served with dalandan truffle dressing.

Paco Salad 280
Baby fern with queso puti, shallots, and salted egg, served with lemon calamansi dressing.
SOUP
The soup is comforting, especially on rainy days or when you need something hearty to melt away stress. It also comes with a nice tableside presentation. Go for the Seafood Bisque if you prefer the earthy, briny flavors of the sea, or try the Mushroom Soup, which is rich and deeply satisfying — a served with smoky flavor.

Seafood Bisque 280
Mixed seafood in tomato-cream soup with a kiss of brandy, served with brioche.

Smoked Mushroom Soup 280
Fresh mushrooms slowly cooked in creamy vegetable consume, finished with a gentle tableside smoke
TAPAS & PINTXOS
We tried a few of the small 1–2 bite pintxos, and these stood out: the Truffle Smoked Salmon Roll, Uni on Toast, and Mango Ceviche. Each offers a burst of umami-rich flavor — best enjoyed as a personal bite-sized treat.

Smoked Salmon Roll 320
Smoked salmon stuffed with truffle cheese garnished with truffle honey and edible flowers.

Uni Toast 220
Fresh Uni on a bed of Chorizo salsa, drizzled with honey ponzu sauce.

Mango Tuna Ceviche 220
Fresh Tuna morsels in Mango chorizo salsa.
COCKTAIL GAME
I like their spirit-forward cocktails, especially the gin-based Last Word and Old Fashioned—though the ice could be better so that it melts slower.

OLD FASHIONED 350

LAST WORD 350.
DESSERT
The desserts are delightful — the Calamansi Truffle Pie is a refreshing palate cleanser, while the Queso de Bola Cheesecake leans rich, cheesy and a bit salty. For something different, try the Coconut Mango Streusel with its contrast of coconut ice cream and mango.

Calamansi Truffle Pie 320
Calamansi pie with truffle on graham crust.

Coconut Mango Streusel 320
Homemade creamy coconut ice cream topped with sweet mango and buttery streusel.

Quezo de Bola Cheesecake 320
Baked cheesecake with quezo de bola.
FINAL THOUGHTS

Mita’s is a great alternative to Conti’s for southern family celebrations over comforting Euro-Asian dishes. The kitchen is still finding its rhythm, so expect a few hits and misses, but the Kare Kare Paella, Braised Short Rib, and Mita’s Signature Steak make it worth the visit. It’s also a nice spot to hang out over pintxos and cocktails, or enjoy a light salad and hearty soup combo. Desserts are satisfying, and you can expect to spend around ₱1,000 per head.

Congratulations to the next-gen food entrepreneurs! I can imagine how challenging it is to bring a concept together—especially developing the menu and ensuring consistent execution.

Check out Mita at the back corner of the new wing in Molito for something uniquely South.
