Food Avengers: The Art of the Potluck — What Did We Bring? | Dice Game Edition!

FOOD AVENGERS is our own gang of chefs and foodies who have been assembling since 2012, united by our love for good food, great company, and discovering what’s cool to eat in Manila. Our potluck dinners are more than just a feast—they’re filled with food industry gossip, stories, and lively conversations about where to eat next and what’s trending in the food scene. Since everyone is busy, we always find a reason to get together, and this time, it’s our Dice Game Edition, complete with prizes and hopia! 🎲🥮 The big question is: What did we bring to the table? 🍽️

The hands-down winner of the potluck was Chef Ed, who brought his famed Bagnet Kare-Kare from his Pino days!

Kare-Kare sauce is served separately, so you cut the crispy bagnet and top it with the sauce. Ang sarap nito!

The best part is you have an option to pair it with the guacamole – the best! DM Kuya Chef Ed to order 🙂

The Lechon Diva presented her Lechon Manok stuffed with Mindanao-inspired Pianggang rice and flavorful sauce.

Meanwhile, Sir Manny scored the first prize with a winning dice combination of five 5s and a 1!

A potluck favorite, this pares is served deconstructed with noodles and condiments on the side.

Pearl, the ensaymada queen of Baby Phat fame, brings her much-requested pares to every potluck!

I’ve never won a dice game until now! Finally scored second prize with a perfect 1-2-3-4-5-6 straight! 🎲

We went around Binondo/Escolta for our potluck and highly recommend UNO Seafoods’ Chicken Pie (₱800/tray)!

So delicious, packed with chicken, potatoes, eggs, and carrots in a creamy milk sauce, all baked together!

No dice game is complete without the legendary hopia from Salazar’s in Binondo! 🥮

Finally, Cutie clinched the top prize with five 5s and a sidekick 4! 🎲

Sanj and Cutie brought their homemade chorizo pasta—because no potluck is complete without noodles!

Cyrene brought the desserts – Gigi’s famed custaroons and Dumaguete silvanas perfect for sharing at a potluck.

We make it a point to meet regularly, enjoy good food, and remind our friends how much we appreciate them—like Spanky, a stroke survivor, and Dedet, who shuttles between Manila and Toronto. It’s a blessing to have foodie friends you can count on for great company, lasting friendships, and the latest foodie tsismis!

Until our next potluck dinner—the post-Michelin Halloween Potluck! 👻🎃🍽️
