MOCHICREAM CAFE Philippines: Mochi Cream + Baumkuchen + DoMatcha @SMMegaMall

Mega Food Tour 2.0 Batch 1-28.jpg

MOCHICREAM CAFE is the only store in the Philippines that sells authentic Japanese mochi cream (not ice cream) imported from Japan! The dessert cafe also specializes in DōMatcha treats and the King of Cakes, known as Baumkuchen.

Here are our favorites from Mochicream Cafe in Manila…

The Mochicream Cafe is located on the 4th floor of SM Mega Fashion Hall.

Mochi Creme-1.jpg

The mochicreams are imported from Japan, filled with a special cream (not ice cream) and wrapped with a flavored sticky mochi skin.

Try the Japanese flavors like Sakura, Darjeeling, Red Bean, and Green Tea.

The Mochi Donut is also sticky good, with different flavors and toppings to choose from.

Mochi Creme-13.jpg
✮ Matcha Dacquoise (P170).

We love the Dacquoise, which is similar to Sansrival in texture, but with more almonds and hazelnut meringue, and less cream.

Mochi Creme-15.jpg
✮ BAUMKUCHEN Ichigo to Kurimo (P250). French Toast Baumkuchen with Strawberries and Cream, Almonds, and Matcha Ice Cream.

The Baumkuchen is very soft with 10 thin crepe layers and very light in flavor. It’s best eaten with a bit of the almond and matcha ice cream. This is probably one of the most underrated desserts in the metro.

If you’re addicted to matcha, you should try the DōMatcha, one of the highest quality variants in the world.

“DōMatcha™ is 100% authentic Japanese matcha green tea now grown in the southwestern corner of Japan in Kagoshima. We work very closely with our partners who have collectively been in the tea industry for over 700 years, Shohokuen one of our producers, and also the famous Japanese tea master Mr. Kazu Handa, whose family’s knowledge and expertise has been handed down generation after generation for over 300 years.”

You can also try the green tea cakes.

Hot Macha Cappucino (P145).

The matcha flavor is also good with coffee, even though it’s a bit strong.

Mochi Creme-16.jpg
Iced Matcha (P135).

The iced version is also very refreshing and can perk up your day.

Overall, I highly recommend the BaumkuchenDōMatcha Dacquoise, and Hot Matcha Cappucino or Iced Matcha for drinks.
