FISHBALL STORY is a hawker stall specializing on hand-made fish ball (with no flour) by 23-year old Douglas Ng using his grand mother’s heirloom fish ball recipe. He is the recipient of the overall tastiest feast in the 2015 Chowzter Asia awards.
You got to try this on your next food trip in Singapore!
The Fishball Story is located in a corner stall on the 2nd floor of the Golden Mile Food Centre.
The 23-year-old owner skipped studying in the university but instead pursued his passion for creating a business selling his grandma’s fishball recipe.
Douglas wakes up early in the morning to prepare the fish ball using only the finest yellowfin meat without the use of flour. They also make their fish cake and sambal.
The fish balls have a dense bouncy consistency with no artificial ingredients.
Watch Douglas Ng himself explains the story of the Fishball Story.
You get a bowl of noodle with fish ball and fish ball soup with sambal sauce on the side for $3.50 (~P112).
It’s so yummy that you can get extra noodles if you like if you are not satisfied with the portion. (Note: The noodle is the only ingredient sourced out to a third party supplier.)

Douglas Story is very inspiring! I do hope we would have more young people who are passionate enough to preserve and promote the culinary heritage of their country. Congrats 🙂

P.S. Douglas story is quite rare in Singapore where the hawker stall owners are a dying breed because the millennial generation does not want to operate a hawker business.
Really love to read stories like this! Quite inspiring.
This is great! I wish I could be a part of this. I love fishballs haha and
Mr.Douglas Congrats and be proud to your passion.
