DISTRITO at Makati… Finally!
Here is a photo essay on the opening of Distrito at Makati…
Distrito opened with a simple launch ceremony highlighting the young and quirky feel of the market.
It was followed by a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony by the VIPs and the Diplomatic Community to formally open Distrito at Makati.

Thanks for the heads up, Anton! Talk about great timing. I’ll be heading over to the Makati area this afternoon. Definitely going to drop by to check this out.
It was my pleasure being there! Nice to see you again and catch up 🙂 Thanks for bringing a night market near us Anton! 🙂
I’ll be there tonight. =)
congratulations, guys! I am happy for you all. Best and God bless.
Are the sellers the same as the ones in Mercato? I hope my family’s favorite Big Bob’s is there, as well as Jam Tapa and Rodrigo’s Roast. Will definitely visit Distrito. At least we don’t have to wait for the weekends anymore.
Cool its so near our school. Will drop by after class.
I’ll drop by tomorrow. Its good to have Distrito, since it’s available on weekdays. And by the way, thanks for sharing the nice pics. I will also share, this time a funny vid I just saw earlier. It shows Mexicans, including Marquez, stepping on Pacquiao. They’re out to get our most famous Congressman! Here’s the link:

Big Bob's and Chef Resty is there. Wala pa sina Jam Tapa…
We were there last night. Please add more tables. There were a lot of people who were looking for table space and chairs to no avail. My boyfriend and I came all the way from Cainta and had to eat our food while sitting in the car trunk 🙁
Thanks for the feedback. We will add more tables and chairs.
Too bad we can’t come here. Our shift starts at 9pm tapos Mondays to Fridays pasok namin. Sana magkaron ng Saturday Night Market like this one.
We were there on Friday night and purposefully went there from San Juan. Food was great—must-trys were the roast beef and the sirloin/wagyu barbecue. And of course we even had the 100% beef tapsilog. However, the tent was too hot and crowded (even if it rained earlier that night). And since we couldn’t get a table anymore, we had to eat our food at the monobloc chairs outside by the parking lot—and we were there just as the crowd was increasing so people who went there later than us would’ve most probably have a harder time getting chairs. We even overheard a couple saying na sana they ate na lang in a restaurant “mas maayos pa kain natin”. Sayang naman since I thought the food vendors had a good mix and there were some vendors that you can only get in Distrito (as opposed to the usual restaurant fare). If you can’t do anything about the size of the tent, then you should add more tables and chairs outside, and also perhaps some electric fans and/or air coolers. 🙂
I wish the owner of the Inasal booth, next to the tapa booth, would add some lights. They look so gloomy, people just pass by without taking a second loook
The Resty’s Roast Beef has too much fat.. their pesto pasta is ‘anemic’ in Pesto
The Polland items are great.. Wish the owner would teach her staff to do better in assembling the lumpia, they just dump the garlic in one place, it’s not a pleasant experience having it all in one bite.
The crispy pork belly booths are both good.
I knew the taco bites wouldn’t last long.. Didn’t see them last night..
The pizza/pasta offerings all have meat.. None for vegetarians..
One booth says ‘baby back ribs’.. I have told them once to change it.. it’s not baby back ribs they have..
The Sinangag Express is the same one having many branches? Got food poisoning having their Vigan longganisa at their Malugay branch. Could have been botcha.
And I hope you don’t concentrate on places you organize.. There’s something like Distrito beside A. Venue Mall. I haven’t seen any feature on it? They have wonderful crabs from RoXas..
Also the bicolano booth in Mercato… I asked the lady if she had any non-plastic container, since we are eating her ginataang langka and laing right there. Her answer was ‘Sir, we have trash can naman..’ …. Some people just don’t get the point. Or is she waiting for her to be directly affected by flood or what?
Hello sunset Goddess, i just read this post in search of write ups about distrito. This reply is long overdue but this is just to inform you that Sinangag trip from distrito is not the same as sinangag express nor we’re not connected in any way. Im the owner of sinangag trip. 🙂 right now, distrito is back to makati again, til july 2012, hopefully to last til december… more food choices, more electric fans and more tables and chairs. If you have time visit us again every wed- friday 9pm to 3am. check our menu and see
The difference from the usual tapsilog, longsilog etc. 🙂 hope to see you there! Godbless!
