Read First: Planning Your Awesome Sofitel Escape
Klook.comSOFITEL is one of the best “staycation” escapes for Manileños because of its awesome sunset experience; Spiral – the best buffet in Manila, and Le Spa — a favorite massage experience for couples.
We have blogged about this a number of times through the years, and it continues to be our favorite hotel resort in Manila:

SOFITEL Overnight Experience
Galette chocolates, for the wife, and gummy bears, for the kids, welcome you to your Sofitel room.
We stayed in a Superior room with a king’s bed and very soft pillows with their signature super comfortable bed called Sofitel MyBed. (with Free Wifi)
Check out the updated room rates here: Sofitel Philippine Plaza Room Rates
The restroom is spacious and with French- bath amenities.
It has a balcony that overlooks the city or the bay.
For babies, you can have a crib and cute teddy bear as sleeping companion.
I love their attention to details specially to make the kids stay longer to have more fun by using the “Little Prince “theme.
Best of all, there’s a Gymboree where you can leave your kids to play all they want!
It’s very spacious and there are different classes: Play & Learn, Arts, Music and Preschool classes.
Make sure to call to know the schedule of the classes and the free play time.
GYMBOREE Sofitel
Operating Hours: 9am to 5pm daily
Play Time Fees: P260 for hotel guests, P320 for walkins, P160 for 10th floor club member.

For golf enthusiasts, you can enjoy the aqua golf facilities where you can drive the balls to the Manila Bay.
The best part of the stay is watching the breathtaking Manila sunset.
Hammocks are conveniently located for your sunset viewing pleasure.
Sometimes you get to witness a romantic sunset wedding.
Here’s a tip for couples: Book the Jardin D’ Eden couples room in Le Spa for your couple’s massage from 4-7pm.
Check out: LE SPA “Duo” Couples Romantic Ritual @ Sofitel
It has it’s own private balcony so that you can watch the sunset with your special someone.
For dinner, don’t miss to experience the Spiral’s Interactive Buffet 🙂

SPIRAL’s Champagne Breakfast
The Spiral’s breakfast gets my vote for the Best Breakfast Buffet in Manila. The buffet offerings are totally different from the SPIRAL’s Dinner and Sunday Brunch Buffet.
Most guests would start with the most-raved-about feature of the buffet – the Cheese Room.
You have a choice of different freshly baked French bread.
You can select from a good variety of fresh whole fruits,
The French station is converted into an egg station,
… with a nice hard-boiled egg’s nest presentation.
In the teppanyaki section, you can order from a limited selection of meat.
I love the Japanese rice for breakfast,
… with the sausages and hams in the churrasco section.
There are good selection of vegetarian dishes in the Indian section.
You have to try the Indian Pancakes,
… with exotic condiments that you can mix and match with your breakfast.
In the Chinese section, a freshly steamed Hainanese chicken is available,
… with different noodle soup options, and
… with wide variety of ingredients.
There’s a good selection of dimsum (but no hakaw for breakfast),
… and dimsum desserts like our favorite buchi 🙂
You can choose from three different versions of congee…
… with all your favorite toppings and condiments.
I love the Kim Chi in the Korean section to mix with my rice to add a spicy “sting” to it.
The best part of the breakfast buffet are the Filipino options.
I love their sweet angus beef tapa version
Fresh Fruit Juice is available,
… and sometimes their own cooler concoctions or vegetable juices.
You can order pancakes, French toasts, and waffles.
If you want to be healthy, go for the muesli and the preserved fruits options, or
…choose from a wide variety of fresh yogurt!
My kids enjoyed the yogurt buffet,
To top it all, they serve unlimited champagne during the weekend!
This is simply the perfect breakfast for our family!
After breakfast, you can go to the cold swimming pool waters of Sofitel.
Although, the kids are still not allowed to slide, we enjoyed playing around the rocks and the waterfalls.
Overall, it’s one of our most memorable family escapes right in the heart of Metro Manila.
Highly recommended for balikbayans and tourists, for “staycations” and celebrating anniversaries.

maybe the welcome chocolates and gummy bears were only bec you were invited by the hotel. i have an accor card and my free room did not include welcome treats nor free breakfast
I agree with Sunshine. We stayed there last December, and service was mediocre. They even forgot to inform us that the cake for my daughter’s birthday is not available… We were waiting the whole night.
