TAMARIND is the SM Aura level-up version of the popular Thai resto Jatujak by Chef Tum and Al Purugganan. It offers the same comfort Thai food at affordable prices with a nice contemporary Thai ambiance.
This is like the “SukhoThai”, the comfort Thai resto of this generation. It’s always fun to be here if you are craving for simple Thai food.
Here’s our Tamarind experience:

I like its cool Thai ambiance, a casual version of Mango Tree, and a higher-end version of Jatujak.
TAMARIND’S MENU: Starters, Famous Soup, Salads | Meats, Seafood, Vegetables, Noodles & Rice | Noodle Soup Counter, Dessert, Beverage
★ Pomelo & Shrimp Salad (Yam Som O) (P270 +10% service charge)
We love this refreshing sweet and chili salad to prepare your tummy for the yummy meal ahead.
Shredded Papaya Salad (P154 +10% service charge)
You can also order this generous serving of papaya salad served with crispy chicharon.
★ Chicken Green Curry (P288 +10% service charge).
The green curry was yummy, a bit sweet and too chilly for my wife’s taste.
TIP: They usually serve food with a MILD level but you can specify to take the spiciness to MEDIUM or SPICY level.
Bagoong Rice (Kao Kluk Gapi) (P180 +10% service charge).
The bagoong rice was very flavorful and a bit sweet. The bagoong taste was a bit diluted, and I do hope they can put more of the bagoong flavor into this rice.
They have a lot of spicy condiment options for spicy lovers like me 🙂
Chicken Sate (P213 +10% service charge).
The Sate sauce was a bit too sweet overpowering the peanut taste. The sweetness should be more subtle.
Congrats to Chef Tum and Al Purugganan for Tamarind Resto in SM Aura! They originally started with Taste of Thailand way back in Milelong and started to partner again with Jatujak and now the higher-end version Tamarind 🙂
Thai Iced Milk Tea (Cha num yen) (P98 +10% service charge).
A Thai comfort meal is not complete without Thai iced milk tea to clean your palate, and
Tapioca Pudding in Pandan Cups (Tako) (P113 +10% service charge)
The classic tako dessert 🙂 Both were very good, and a fitting finale when you are craving for a good Thai comfort food for lunch or dinner.
Overall, this is the Thai comfort- food place to be when you are in SM Aura. They have a nice location in the Sky Park area. Food is surprisingly affordable, budget about P500/head.

P.S. The Sky Park restos have an automatic window panel that opens when the weather is clear, and closes when it rains.
P.P.S. Since they are located near the Sky Park garden, there’s plenty of flies. Make sure to have candles on your table.
There is Tamarind restaurant in Bacolod, located in Robinson’s Mall. It also serves Thai dishes. This one, in SM Aura, is more upscale, interior and price-wise, I guess.
