Union Bank together with GetGo (the rewards program of Cebu Pacific) and Visa launched the Union Bank Debit Card, Visa Credit Card, and the Visa Platinum Credit Card, which automatically credit loyalty points to your GetGo account.
It’s faster because you don’t need to convert points manually, and even the debit card earns GetGo points.
But can you really fly for free faster if you use these Union Bank Get Go Visa cards?
We attended the cool launch of the Union Bank Get GoCard at Unit 27 Cafe in Bonifacio Global City last May 30, 2016.
The Visa Credit Card earns 1 GetGo point for every P30 spend, while the Visa Debit Card earns 1 GetGo point for every P88.
(Note: This is the only debit card that earns points)

I can’t find any GetGo award charts online. You have to manually go to Redeem Points on the GetGo website (https://www.getgo.com.ph/) to know how many points per flight.
For example, if you want to go to Hong Kong Disneyland, you would need about 10,000 GetGo points for a promo fare or 16,000 points for a regular fare.

…using my Union Bank Debit Visa card for P8,800, which automatically earns 100 GetGo points only (P88 = 1 Get Go point).
To go to Hong Kong, you need to charge about P880,000 to your debit card to get a free flight from Manila to Hong Kong.
If you use the Visa Credit card, you can charge P300,000 only to get 10,000 points to redeem a free flight to Hong Kong.
You can also get points by flying via Cebu Pacific and purchases from other GetGo partners like Robinsons, Petron, Go Hotels, and Summit.
You can also create an earning or sharing circle so that you can earn points together with your friends.
