Irving’s is the All-Day Dining male version of Cafe Juanita serving Filipino, Asian and American cuisine. It’s named after the lively Irving Street lined up with cafes in the Sunset district of San Francisco, California.
The restaurateur team of Doc Boy Vazquez and son, Jun Bormate created a more refined and relevant comfort food that the new generation of diners can enjoy. We also love the desserts, and it is one of the best in the Brgy. Kapitolyo neighborhood.
Here’s what what to expect at Irving’s by Cafe Juanita …

Reminds you of the former Breakfast @ Juanita layout but with a contemporary kitschiness vibe.
Irving’s Menu: Breakfast | Irving’s All Day Dining | Drinks Menu
It feels like eating at home on a long table with your family for a lazy breakfast or dinner.
STARTERS
The appetizer of different crispy fish served with vinegar — it’s so crispy that even the kids liked it.
★ Beef KANSI for sharing (P488)
Sometimes you like a different kind of soup from Negros which is taste like sinigang but with bulalo.
They’ll serve you the broth to taste (like wine), and you can approve it or specify to make it a bit more sour.
Surprisingly, one of the best siomai we’ve tasted with more meat, shrimp and bigger than usual.
A safe option for the kids to enjoy but they prefer all cheese with fewer vegetables.
This pasta was simple but so good, and we had to order a second serving for the boys.
MAIN DISH
★ Crispy Beef Ribs with Sinigang Sauce (P388).
It’s refreshing to see this different take on beef ribs with a pairing of sour sinigang sauce with vegetables on the side.
The flavors are more refined and not your usual in your face flavors that Cafe Juanita is known for.
Baby Back Ribs served ala liempo style with different sauces and atchara.
Buttermilk Fried Chicken (P313).
Deeply fried strips of chicken served with gravy and pancakes.
Australian Rib Eye Steak (P889).
The steak was tasty and good value for money but served as a thin slice of meat.
The four awesome boys 👍 with the legendary Doc Vasquez of Cafe Juanita.
DESSERTS
★ Crepe Samurai (to share – P140).
The Best Crepe Samurai in town inspired by the iconic version of InterContinental Manila.
New York Cheesecake with Chocolate Mousse (P155) and ★ Canonigo (P90).
The cheesecake was good as expected but our favorite was the canonigo – light and fluffy with just the right sweetness.
A bit too crispy and dry all throughout, I prefer to have a chewy middle.
★ Churros with Chocolate Sauce (P165).
Best of all, thick but airy churros with the best chocolate sauce better than the ones in Madrid.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, Irving’s concept is a good rebrand but still in the shadows of Breakfast @ Juanita. We grew up with the kitschy ambiance of Cafe Juanita, and it feels like home.
We love the Beef Kansi, Siomai, Carbonara and Crispy Beef Ribs with Sinigang Sauce. The desserts are the best like the Mango Crepe Samurai, Canonigo, and Churros! I like that the flavors are more refined with balanced and mature taste. Budget about P500/head.
We don’t like the fried stuff, and I do hope they offer a healthier take on the Asian and American comfort food.
