Sun’s out, and It’s official, summer has finally arrived! And what better thing to enjoy the summer heat than with a quick trip to some of our newly updated & favorite summer destinations around Manila.

Awesome activities that are perfect for families, kids and barkada outings with short trips that would make your summer vacation more enjoyable.

And fun indoor/outdoor activities that would surely bring out the perfect smiles and selfies this summer!

So what are you waiting for? Here are my top 10 fun & awesome activities for summer that won’t require a long trip away from Manila.

1. Aqua Planet (Clark)

Aqua Planet-73.jpg

Aqua Planet claims that it is one of the newest and biggest water theme parks in Asia. Located in Clark, Pampanga, it’s the hottest water theme park destination this summer near Metro Manila.

Aqua Planet-69.jpg

The place is huge and definitely the biggest waterpark in the Philippines. But customer service is provincial standard and not very helpful which is a bit annoying. They don’t have any proper guide map and you are on your own. So make sure to organize weekday outing with your family and friends. Go as early as you can to enjoy all the water rides and book the cabanas.

Aqua Planet-57.jpg

For me, this is the best water ride in the park which is a bit scary but a lot of fun where you feel like you are inside the eye of the tornado.

Aqua Planet-138.jpg

Overall, we love how it has a world-class vision in terms of design, quality and safety standards. Indeed, it is one of the biggest water theme parks in Asia. You’ll be proud that we have this kind of next level water park compared to other entertainment or water parks in the country.

3. Masungi Geo Reserve (Rizal)

2

Also, just a quick hour and a half from Manila is the Masungi Georeserve. Masungi comes from the word “masungki,” which means “spiked,” this is fitting as one of the prime attractions of this reserve is a 10-kilometer spine of limestone formations.

1

The 1,500+ hectare reserve is a haven for a variety of flora and fauna and a fun adventure spot for hikers and ecotourists.

5

Some new sights to be seen are new rope obstacles, ladders, and bridges.

Conveniently located in Batangas and with a stunning view of the Taal lake, it’s hard not to fall in love with the place.

GOPR5253

What looks like a volcano, the aquapark itself is home to the tallest inflatable waterslide in the Philippines. A new segment will be opening this month in the park that would further increase the size and fun of the park itself

DJI_0060

You’ll definitely have a blast here with your friends and family under the sun while enjoying the view of the glorious Taal Volcano. And the fact that the place is very close to Manila makes me want to come back every weekend.

DJI_0045

Overall we loved how they placed the park right in front of the Taal Volcano so visitors can enjoy both the park and the lake.

SNY02748

The Bike Playground is the newest cycling facility right at the center of the metropolis near residential and business centers at Circulo Verde! It is Philippines’ First Signature Pump Park designed by mountain bike celebrity Claudio Caluori.

oap-dessertmuseum-01447

From the creator of the Inflatable Island comes a new concept–Instagrammable museums! The Dessert Museum is a 12,000-sq. ft. space with 8 mouthwatering rooms of sugar-filled happiness.

oap-dessertmuseum-01548

With the advent of spaces like the Ice Cream Museum in New York and 29 Rooms in LA, it’s about time Manila got its own Instagram haven. What’s a better concept than a dessert museum?

oap-dessertmuseum--8

A slot entitles you to 2 hours inside the museum–that makes it 15 minutes per room. Make sure your cameras are fully charged to last through all the picture taking sessions.

oap-dessertmuseum-01408

This is a great place to bring your squad and take great pictures together! So make sure to wear comfortable shoes also as you will be moving around a lot. I would advise not to wear skirts or dresses as they’re awkward on the slides and the cake pops.

Edsa Shangrila Staycation-10.jpg

But if you are the type of person who doesn’t want to travel far and prefers a staycation with an equally fun activity then we’ve got the right place for you!

EDSA Shangri-La is one of our favorite hotels for family staycation because it has one of the best swimming pools with a mini water park and its Sunday Brunch innovations of HEAT.

Plus, this summer 2018, the Sunday Side of HEAT features the best of home-based food favorites, a Filipino fiesta with Cebu Lechon as the centerpiece, and a day access to the swimming pool.

  1. Thanks for sharing. The oldest Chinatown in the world is located in Manila’s Binondo district. Founded in the 16th century as a community for Chinese Catholics, the area continues to attract restaurants, retailers, and other businesses.
