Bom Gosto! is a casual dine-in restaurant by The Vikings Group specializing on Southern European Cuisine from Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy. It was conceptualized together with the AdViChe consulting team of Cyril Addison, Chef Carlo Villaflor, and Chef Chele Gonzales.
No, it’s not a buffet; it’s a sit down concept similar to a European bistro. It’s located on the 3rd Level of The Podium Mall.
Here’s what we love about the Bon Gosto! concept.

The Vikings Group, creators of the famous Vikings Buffet and also owners of several other winning concepts-Tong Yang Plus, Four Seasons buffet and hotspot, The Alley and Niu-, joined forces with ADVICHE–F&B Solutions to create this unique Southern European concept to be located in Podium Mall in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
ADVICHE, led by Chef Chele Gonzalez-acting asCreative and Culinary Director-, ChefCarlos Villaflor-mastering all Kitchen techniques-, and Entrepeneurand Sommelier Cyril Adison-behind the wine journey and the mastering of the front of house-, all conform the professional team of experts rooted in the hospitality industry that have provided the support to bring this concept to life.

Bom Gosto! Menu: Charcuterie, Spain, Italy | France, Portugal, Seafood, Meats, Dessert | Bom Gosto Cocktails, Mocktails, Bom Gosto Wine
To accomplish the South-European journey, as you enter the venue you feel like when having walk around in their heritage streets and you have found a restaurant with a display of their catch of the day and fresh meats. As you move on and order your food, it may well be served baked and roasted in a traditional “Masonry Oven”, also part of the Bom Gosto! experience.
Bom Gosto! Food
Starters

Big scallops baked with béchamel, shallots, wine, and lots of gruyere cheese—just the way we like it!

Good to pair with a crisp white wine that is refreshing with citrus notes perfect with seafood.

Big shrimps swimming in lots of olive oil, garlic, and chili spice where you can dip your bread, just like how you do it in Spain.

Simple grilled squid with lemon, garlic, extra olive oil, and parsley served half-sliced to keep it juicy. Cooked medium, it’s not too chewy with a good bite. Simply good.

Parmesan in different textures—mousse, crisps, and stracciatella—served with tomato, basil, and vinaigrette. Loved the interplay of the parmesan textures with the balsamic vinegar and juices from the tomato. Loved this salad!
Mains

In Europe, an ancestral brick oven is used to slow-cook lamb rack, rib-eye or pork chop.

Brick-oven cooked white snapper coated with herbs and breadcrumbs to form the crust and served with roasted potato and a velvety creamy lemon butter sauce. Ang sarap!

A European meal is not complete without the steak course. Beef tenderloin served French style with mashed potato with butter, truffle bernaise, beef jus and topped with French beans. Yum!

The Les Volets Malbec is quite good on its own (we drank this the whole night), but it’s also good to pair with the steak. Bold and dry Malbec with oaky, black and red fruit notes.

From Portugal, this is a simple rice dish with garlic, onion, lemon, and coriander topped with big cuts of duck and chorizo. You can enjoy it on its own or you can pair the rice with the steak.
Desserts

Our favorite Spanish dessert with the brioche soaked in milk, caramelized, topped with chocolate, and served with ice cream on the side.

The classic Tiramisu, moist with alcoholic kick, coffee notes, and mascarpone flavor.
Final Thoughts

Overall, we love the concept where you can order the best food representing the yummy regions of Europe. Our favorites are Coquille Au Four, Insalata di Pomodori con Consistenza di Parmigiano, Herb-crusted Fish with Lemon Butter Sauce, Fillet Mignon a la Bernaise Truffle et jus de Boeuf, and Arroz de Pato. Like in Europe, they have a good selection of wines to pair with the food. Budget about ₱1,200/head + bottle of wine.
Reserve a table inside for added privacy and for a more intimate date. Go for the tables near the entrance for a more open maaliwalas feel. A good place to celebrate milestones or to go on a date with a special someone.

Congratulations to The Vikings Group and The Podium Mall for an awesome new resto concept!
