Mira Angeles Dips and Dressings

After the 4.6 rating of Dulcelin Gourmet in the Ultimate Taste Test, Mira Angeles Dips and Dressings was a distant second at 3.7 out of 5.0. One taste tester commented, “I think the taste is subtle, maybe because everything is homemade… price is reasonable. It’s good, hindi addicting.” Personally, I like the dense Herbed Cream Cheese balanced with the taste of Sundried tomatoes. Try the homemade Cheese Pimiento for a nostalgic trip to your childhood days. For a different kind of salad dressing, try Mira’s Strawberry Vinaigrette, which most people commented on as healthy and yummy.

Henry’s Place by Good Earth

We love Good Earth, and we recently found out from Chef Henry that it originated in Hong Kong in the New Territories area. Good Earth has three branches in Manila — one in Greenbelt 3, one in Rockwell and now in the Fort Burgos Circle.

Caffe Murano and Art Shoppe

Here is an interesting combination — a Murano Glass Art Shop with a Cafe / Gelateria. This is Greenbelt 5’s version of an Art Cafe in the heart of Makati. It is located at the corner of Greenbelt 5, at the foot of Ayala Museum near Lusso. I heard the place is run by Chef Massimo, an Italian Glass Artist himself.

Jalapeno and Buffalo Wings

We recently enjoyed our FoodStreet Food trip with the family on a Sunday Night. For P500+, we got to enjoy Filipinized American Food from Buffalo Wings N Things and Filipinized Mexican cuisine from Jalapeno Cantina Mexicana. These are the two interesting restaurants worth going to at Ortigas Home Depot. The cool thing is you can sit in any of the two restos and order from either one.

Healthy Desserts @ MOA

Xu Liu Xian Healthy Desserts of Hong Kong opened its first stall in Mall of Asia. It is worth trying, especially if you are looking for something healthy — but it won’t satisfy your yummy craving. After all, we still want our chocolate dessert once in a while. 🙂

Sailing with the Balangay

We are officially part of history, as we were part of the first group to test-sail the Balangay on Manila Bay. Not even the light rain was enough to cancel our date with destiny. It was an easy and safe cruise last Saturday morning with Sir Art, Aidan, Lileya and Liyora. 🙂

Wicked Kitchen’s Gluttony Dessert

My first impression of Wicken Kitchen is that it is a restaurant that specializes in spicy cuisine. Apparently that was not the case. For them, “wicked” is a slang word for superlatives such as wonderful, awesome, splendid, masterful, cool, impressive, excellent, fine, superb, outstanding, terrific, fantastic, fabulous and brilliant.

A Taste of Baja in Manila?

The promise of Baja is to serve authentic Mexican food like what you would enjoy in Baja, Mexico. Take the Burritos for example. The Carne Asad Burrito is served with just beef and vegetables wrapped in 7in. soft tortilla. The most frequently asked questions are: “Where are the rice and beans in the burrito?” and “Is this really how they serve it in Baja?”

Ravioli Fresh Pasta in Food Court

When you are in Robinsons Galleria, don’t miss eating at Ravioli in the Food Court. Ravioli is the latest food court stall that serves fresh pasta, following the successful formula of Chef Arbeli in Megamall.
We love the Chorizo & Tomato Ravioli! We don’t like going to Galleria because of the ugly parking but Ravioli made our trip there worthwhile. 🙂

Sonsi’s House of Longganisa

Have you been to this restaurant that serves all the best longganisa specialties from all over the Philippines? If you’re a longganisa lover, you can now enjoy the longganisa of Alaminos, Cabanatuan, Lucban, Vigan, Tuguegarao, Cebu, Pampanga and Bacolod all in one place.
