[ Playa Calatagan #5] a Manos Greek Tavern Dinner

The first time, I saw Manos Greek Taverna with its inviting blue and white structure, I hesitated to try it out because of the fear of being disappointed with a Filipino-style Greek cuisine similar to Mati in Rockwell.
…Although, it looks like a canteen atmosphere inside, I would give credit to Manos for putting in the effort to give his guests a greek ambiance by posting pictures of Crete and other greek designs. … It tasted like beef omelet with vegetables and potato but the ingredients blended very well to give you a unique taste that you’ll surely go back for more.

Sugarnot!’s Last Temptation

By

The sad news is, the taste needs a lot of getting use to and there are no crowd every time I pass by this place. So I’m worried that this might not survive specially in the Philippine’s high-carb diet scene.
…Undoubtedly it looks good, but the taste should be acquired for these sugar-free cakes and it is sadly, forgettable.

Great Crepe Wrap but Lousy Photos

By

I must admit that Crepes & Cream will surely become a dessert destination from now on in The Fort (There is also a store in the ground floor, The Podium in Ortigas). … ” Although, I would say that the photos in their main advertisement above well lacks the artistic touch — people bowing their heads, looking at the ice cream, or it lacked that authentic look of “I love crepes & cream”.
…There is a wide assortment of crepe not only the Sweet Crepes, but also Savoury Crepes, Cake Crepes and other desserts (Sundaes, Milkshakes, Beverages, and Ice Cream).

Queens: Best Indian/Fusion Food I Tasted in a Long Time!

When Queens opened along Jupiter St. in Makati, there was a lot of buzz about how great the food and a bit on the pricey side.
…The service was excellent and the best part was this was a treat from Viv and Marge (so we were not privy to how much the entire dinner costs). Overall, if you have not tasted this yet, schedule that special christmas dinner reunion in this place 🙂 MORE INFORMATION: 146-B Jupiter Street Makati City 1209 Philippines www.queens.com.ph Tel# 895-1316 Mobile# 0917-8113368 queens_rest@hotmail.com

Vegetarians don’t eat Steak :(

By

I heard a lot of raves about the novelty of eating beside a petron station but I’ve never tried it and probably never will. I’m a vegetarian for 2 weeks now (yes, you heard me right) and I can only read reviews about it. … If my vegetarian experiment works, I don’t mind missing raving about this steak. 2 more weeks…

Som’s Noodle House – cheap authentic version of SukhoThai

I’ve decided to check out Som’s Noddle House instead of going to the World’s longest dinner buffet in Eastwood ( and the World’s most unsatisfied guests – I’m glad 🙂 Then, the next day, I also checked out SukhoThai in Megamall which is one of our favorites but we heard that it will be closing shop soon (hopefully just a rumor).
…Of course, I would think there would be a difference if you eat in the morning or if you eat at night in Som’s Noddle House since you might get the freshness of cooked food during lunch.
…I like them both but the Som’s curry is home made and if not for my sore throat I would order the chili one which I heard is really chili 🙂 My wife likes the SukhoThai version better while the Som’s taste was forgettable.

Bak Kuh Teh – My New Singaporean Dish Favorite

Now, this is a local favorite that you don’t hear a lot among tourists which only knows Hainanese Chicken Rice as the only Singaporean food out there.
…We ended up in hawker place along a street and we’re soo curious about bak kuh teh that we don’t mind eating in this ambiance. … The Bak Kuh Teh is really a winner and the pork ribs broth was sooo delicious that all of us in the table who was from Thailand, Australia and the Philippines loved it!

My Singapore Adventures 1: Are you a Chili Crab or Pepper Crab lover?

The JUMBO chili crab has always been a winner over the JUMBO pepper crab because of its rich yummy sauce with fried or steam buns! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’re missing on one of the culinary adventures of your life.
…The problem with having photography as your hobby is the fact that people will leverage your hobby during meetings and ask you to be THE official photographer.

Best Chocolate Ganache in Manila! ?

By

My Wife loves it but too chocolatie for my taste 🙂 It’s the first time I encountered the word ganache and by defition it means rich paste of chocolate, cream, and sometimes butter. Now this taste and sounds more fattening than an icing 🙂 The entire cake tastes like death by chocolate because literally it is sooo good and sooo sweet that even if you know that it is not good for your health, you still try to eat it ! Anyway, I’m starting to taste all these best desserts in manila but this one was not even included in the list but it was tucked away in the comments of lori’s readers.
