Just an additional tip if you are going on a Makan food trip: a) bring your own tissue/ water and, b) you can say no to the wet towels and peanuts which usually comes with a fee. … There are two versions the one with clear, aromatic broth that is full of garlic and white pepper and the one with a dark broth full of Chinese herbs that is good for your health.
…They are only open from 6am to 2pm and closed on monday to ensure freshness of the meat which I believe is one of the secret of this pork soup dish.

Shopping, Thai Massage and Amazing Thailand Subway!

The subway was very convenient to move from Pat Pong to the Suan Lum Night Market and I was amazed that Thais started to commute now vs. using cars because it is convenient and you avoid the traffic. I do hope that I get to see the day that Philippines would have our own Subway, people would prefer to commute vs. bringing their own cars, and start the culture of walking!
…At night, You should try to visit the Suan Lum Night Market — very nice ambiance, very unique finds, and kudos to Thailand for creating this night market specially for tourist who won’t have the weekend to spare for shopping.

Bak Kuh Teh – My New Singaporean Dish Favorite

Now, this is a local favorite that you don’t hear a lot among tourists which only knows Hainanese Chicken Rice as the only Singaporean food out there.
…We ended up in hawker place along a street and we’re soo curious about bak kuh teh that we don’t mind eating in this ambiance. … The Bak Kuh Teh is really a winner and the pork ribs broth was sooo delicious that all of us in the table who was from Thailand, Australia and the Philippines loved it!
