The Best Restaurants in Boracay 2021

Here are the Best Restaurants in Boracay that consistently provide good quality food and signature Boracay service compliant with all the safety and hygiene protocols despite the challenges of the pandemic:

LOS INDIOS BRAVOS @ White Beach Resort

Los Indios Bravos is the only restobar in Boracay that serves good food and good craft beer on tap. It’s even better than the gastropubs in Manila. With Chef Martin Jickain and Chef Mike Katindig at the helm, they are surviving the pandemic because of their commitment to quality.

Congratulations to Head Chef Mike and team for not compromising the quality of the food despite the pandemic realities of difficult logistics and sourcing of quality ingredients on the island.

DOS MESTIZOS @ Behind Seawind Resort

Dos Mestizos, one of the surviving restaurant institutions in Boracay, recently celebrated its 25 years. During the pandemic, they relocated to a more accessible prime spot along the main road in Station 1 behind Seawind Resort. A visit to Boracay is not complete without experiencing tapas and paellas at Dos Mestizos.

During our recent visit, we were able to meet one of the mestizos behind the restaurant who shared with us stories of Boracay during the pandemic and their secret to lasting this long on the island.

I’m still amazed at the high quality of food they offer especially during the pandemic, staying true to the Dos Mestizos Spanish food we grew up with. I was impressed with Binggoy’s drive to reopen the restaurant to provide livelihood to his staff and to continue offering good food to the locals and, soon hopefully, to more tourists on the island. No wonder they continue to thrive after 25 years and survive in spite of the pandemic.

Best time to go is during noontime for a lazy lunch with less crowd, but dinner time is good for celebrating something special with family and friends. I love how safety protocols are followed and, overall, you just feel safe in the environment and how the staff serves the food.

Congratulations to Dos Mestizos. Hope you thrive more in the years to come post-pandemic!

LITTLE WAVE @ Station X, Hue Hotel

Little Wave by Nowie and Odette Potenciano, the go-to place among coffee connoisseurs in Boracay, is known for their signature coffees. We tried almost all of their food, and we were blown away by their breakfast food and well-crafted menu. Galing!

✅ Creamed Shimeji and Eggs (₱290). Unctuous creamed shimeji mushrooms on top of scrambled eggs and sourdough toast.
Open-faced house-made sourdough with a generous serving of moist egg topped with shimeji mushrooms. Sarap!

✅ Highly Recommended: The Death Cream (₱290). Their take on this decadent favorite. Coffee & thick cream that makes you feel like you’re drinking ice cream. A must try at Little Wave.
Oh soo good—liquid coffee ice cream served on the rocks for indulgent mornings.

✅ Little Wave Waffles (₱195). Mango and Salted Caramel.
For those who like their waffles chewy with sweetness from mango and salted caramel.

✅ The Little Wave Beef Tapa Bowl (₱290). They make their own tapa in-house to make this delish bowl of comfort that’s sure to please everyone.
I didn’t know they serve one of the best tapsilogs on the island because of their in-house tapa!

✅ The Little Wave (₱250). Espresso and milk shaken together and finished with sea salt cream.
One of my favorite cold coffee creations with a layer of milk froth on top and topped with sea salt cream!

✅ Mushroom Parsley Fettuccine (₱350). Mushrooms, pecorino and a hint of truffle oil.
Did you know that they handmake their own pasta and serve it with the best combination of ingredients?

✅ Vanilla Slice aka Super Napoleones.
Literally makes your Boracay trip worthwhile—a thick layer of Vanilla sandwich with a sweet white glaze on top. Sobrang sarap. 🙂

OSTERIA FORNO @ Discovery Boracay

Forno Osteria is a casual dining Italian restaurant open for everyone that serves the freshest pasta, brick oven Neapolitan pizza and the first Josper-grilled steaks on the island.

They have the best steak I’ve eaten on the island, perfect if you want to celebrate a special life milestone along the white beach. The steak comes with 3 kinds of sauces (Bernaise, House Steak Sauce, Melted Gorgonzola), a choice of steak knives and different side dishes of grilled vegetables.

End with tiramisu or other Italian desserts and limoncello! You can enjoy their signature smoked cocktail or your choice from their decent selection of wines and spirits.

Note: Forno Osteria is open for guests even if you are not checked-in Discovery Boracay.

LA PLAZA @ Feliz Boracay Hotel

One of the best places for paella and Spanish food on the island where you can enjoy them in an al fresco plaza setting. Don’t miss the churros with a perfectly crisp crust outside, a chewy inside and served with chocolate and crema.

Thanks to Chef Jessa for the good quality of the Spanish food at La Plaza, operated by Enderun Hospitality Group.

Also check out their alfresco Breakfast Dining with view of the Plaza. Loved their house-made Wagyu tapa, chicken tocino and daing na bangus served family style. We would take a long lazy breakfast while working remotely with socially distant tables and a good Boracay breeze.

CYMA BORACAY @ D’Mall

The original Cyma Greek Taverna in d’Mall Boracay is still the best over the years and we always make a point to eat here when on the island. They opened a bar beside the restaurant to complement the dining experience.

We would order their bestsellers: Saganaki, Flaming Cheese served with an enthusiastic “OPA!”; Roka Salata with its secret Greek Vinaigrette sauce; Cyma char-broiled Lamb Chops; and end the meal with Flaming Mangoes with Vanilla Ice Cream and another serving of the stress-releasing “OPA!” or their Greek Yogurt dessert!

It’s still good, the service team is very friendly and you can enjoy the Boracay alfresco vibe. Congrats to Sunshine de Leon and team who continues to offer good quality Greek food consistently with their signature Opa! service!

LEMONI CAFE @ D’Mall

This is a cafe institution already located at the center of d’Mall in Boracay and continues to serve good tapsilog, burgers, soups, salads, and cakes to satisfy your craving for healthy gourmet cuisine.

Eat alfresco with a welcoming colorful vibe and this is usually the defacto meeting place in d’Mall. Say Hi to Sarah Adey LaBrooy who usually greets the tourists and guests to make them feel at home in Boracay.

DINIBEACH RESTAURANT @ Diniwid Beach

DiniBeach Bar is now the go to place for an old Boracay sunset vibe with cool music. This is where the local Boracay expats, locals and tourists hang-out for a weekend sunset slowdown. They serve good food, drinks and desserts from the same owners of Lemoni Cafe.

(Trivia: Pre-pandemic tourists would usually go to Spiderhouse in Diniwid which is now demolished because of the environmental concerns)

Let’s support as many local establishments when we visit Boracay to support the tourism economy and their recovery from the devastation of the multiple lockdowns over the last 3 years.

Let me know if you have recommended Boracay Restaurants that deserve to be included in this list.
