The Charley’s Food Trip Group!
…To respect the privacy of the people who joined during the tour, I decided not to put the names of the bloggers and other people who joined us. There are 4 well known foodie bloggers in this group, a couple of Agency people and friends 🙂
Aidan’s First Encounter with Horses There is this cute little horse that Aidan was able to touch. You can see from his face that he loves the horses and he is not afraid of them. … The Green House with Charley’s herbs are on the top right side and Toni’s stable on the top left side.
I can’t believe that we are in Lipa, Batangas and we have to thank Charley Leviste- Antonio’s family for opening up their gorgeous Lipa farm / house on weekends to the public. … We were also limited by the maximum allowable at Charley’s which is 20, so we can’t invite as much people to this food trip. … As for the food, everybody agrees that the Fresh tomato soup and the Crepe Suzette cooked in front of you with the aroma embracing the entire room are the hands down killer food.
My friend Luisa and I after visiting Tahanan ni aling Meding decided to check out Sitio de Amor because we are hearing some good stuff about it and they say it was featured in a Dec issue of cosmo magazine.
…Lastly, they reaffirmed my prediction that San Pablo will be the next Tagaytay because it is merely 1.5-2 hrs away, it is the fruit basket of the Philippines, great food and nature inspired restos, cool weather during the Dec-Feb season, and a province that surprises you each and every time you go there. … Last word on Sitio de Amor, if I’m going for an overnight stay in the San Pablo, Laguna area, this is the place I want to stay in!
I was curious to check out this mansion cum hotel and restaurant which was described by the viaje del sol brochure as: ” Tahanan ni Aling Meding is a tribute to the Borja sibling’s parents, especially their mother, Meding, who kept hearth and warm, soothing and comfortable.” … I love eating in their main dining area where you are served with good food with a hospitable service Filipinos are known for, while the Sampaloc Lake winds kissed your face through out your dining experience.
…This area is just directly in front of Aling Meding’s where you can have a picnic under the shade of trees while reflecting on how life has been very good to you.

The highlight of the tour has always been Ugu Bigyan which is a sure winner in terms of food and overall ambiance.

You have to cross this spring and go upstream where Jay had setup lunch picnics or evening dates all for the same price of P500/person (standard line pricing). … I love nature and settings such as these are priceless and I can already imagine a better alternative to Villa Escudero’s lunch where you also eat with your feet submerge in water and tables are setup on top of the water.
…The place is still virgin and undeveloped that we were cautious when we visited Kubli Springs since it feels isolated and you are in the middle of a valley with forrest all around.
