I’ll surely miss updating this blog regularly and I’ll surely miss exploring the culinary delights of Manila. … This blog is very fulfilling for me in making connections with other people and in the process, I learn more secrets 🙂 I leave you with this beautiful sunset picture of LA taken during the landing of our PAL flight. My brother was teasing me about some insider secrets of Los Angeles and I might have some posts on our LA adventures.

The quest is ON for the First Filipino in Mt. Everest!
Romi is an officemate and a good friend for some years now, and I’m glad that our company supported him in this quest. … He would be attempting to climb the summit and be back in Manila by May 15 (at the earliest) or May 29 (at the latest). … Everest in May 2007 and for sure will set other records including becoming the first all Filipino expedition team and the first Asian woman on top of Mt.
Chef Ed’s Spanish Cuisine + Chef Canoy’s Mediterranean Cuisine = Fig & Olives
I was surprised one day, when I say our favorite business lunch place Chef Ed’s was converted into Fig & Olives Mediterranean and Spanish Restaurant. … I’m a great fan of mediterranean food because of its unique taste, the availability of couscous in the menu and it has healthier food options than Filipino cuisine.
…It’s too bad that I was not able to talk to Chef Canoy personally, hopefully when I try it again for a power lunch.
[ Playa Calatagan #5] a Manos Greek Tavern Dinner
The first time, I saw Manos Greek Taverna with its inviting blue and white structure, I hesitated to try it out because of the fear of being disappointed with a Filipino-style Greek cuisine similar to Mati in Rockwell.
…Although, it looks like a canteen atmosphere inside, I would give credit to Manos for putting in the effort to give his guests a greek ambiance by posting pictures of Crete and other greek designs. … It tasted like beef omelet with vegetables and potato but the ingredients blended very well to give you a unique taste that you’ll surely go back for more.
[ Playa Calatagan #4] Beautiful Golden Sunset!!
This post is just all about the sunset shots I made and I suggest that you gotta watch this when you decide to visit this place. For those of you who are in the office and I do hope these shots would de-stress you and make you more excited to visit the Philippines awesome beaches.
…Red Sunset Thanks to Joey, Tisha and Diego for the Playa Calatagan opportunity 🙂 The first of many sunsets that Aidan would enjoy 🙂 Poppa and Aidan who hates the feel of sand that is why he keeps on raising his other feet 🙂

[ Playa Calatagan #3] Stay a week or stay a lifetime @ Playa Calatagan!
With a beautiful beach such as Playa Calatagan — I do hope that it can bring it’s vision alive of bringing the Boracay spirit in Calatagan, 3 hours away from Manila. … What’s great about the Playa Calatagan vision, is that there is a private resort for the seaside community but also there is a public commercial area envisioned to be the Boracay Party Place of Batangas 🙂 As mentioned in my earlier post, I’m glad the Palacios family decided to develop their beach and it has huge huge potential. … Take note that I refrained from using retirement house since the vision is that the community would be younger and more vibrant 🙂 I think this is a lot better than the Anvaya Seaside community in Subic.
[ Playa Calatagan #2] Breakfast @ Antonio’s “Halfway House”
I was surprised that this place is jump packed on Sunday Breakfast including the regular group of bikers who meet up here every Sunday @ 8.30am. This was my first time @ Breakfast and I’ve heard mixed reviews that the food was not as great as the main Antonio’s restaurant.
…I was pleasantly surprised that there are a lot of healthy and vegetarian options including this Vegetarian Fritata (P190) (open-ended omelet) which was delicious!!
[ Playa Calatagan #1] a Beach Discovery in Calatagan, Batangas
Temporary Pavilion @ Playa Calatagan, Batangas (Playa is spanish for beach) Before I leave for a blog vacation for the entire March, I would like to share with you a beach discovery 3 hours away from Manila! … There are three criteria for me for a great beach resort: (a) the beach sand is white fine sand, (b) the water is so calm that children could swim in it, (c) a beautiful sunset right in front of the beach! Playa Calatagan meets those three criteria except for the beach having a brownish tint but its finer than most of the beaches in Batangas 🙂 It is still in its natural virgin state and it was owned by Mayor Palacios Family (that is why it remained private all these years!)
