100 Awesome

TI would like to share with you a rough draft of my outline for the OAP book. The emphasis is on “rough” since this is my personal brainstorm list of the experiences that really wowed me or the things that I can’t wait to experience. I would like to get the collective thoughts of OAP Friends about what you think about the outline and what are your inputs/feedback. The list is focused on three awesome aspects of life in the Philippines: food (food trips, and restaurants), travel (beaches and fiestas) and spiritual experiences only in the Philippines.

Our FaMEALy Day

I must admit that I often dragged my feet whenever we would go to my in-laws for Sunday lunch with the entire family. When we started to have kids, I learned that having a family meal is one of the best gifts we could ever give our children. Last Sunday, I realized how blessed we were to be together. The children loved to play and it is always a riot when they meet. Sunday lunch would often be a coordinated potluck event between my wife’s siblings. It is a feast complete with dessert.

25 Best-Loved Pinoy Children’s Book Characters of all Time

Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK) and Philippine Board on Books for Young People mounted a touring exhibit of the 25 of the Best-Loved Pinoy Children’s Books Characters of all time. It is based on a survey among hundreds of Filipino school children. I’m ashamed that I only know 3 out of the 25 pinoy characters. We decided to buy all the children’s books in the ongoing Manila International Book Fair in SMX Convention Center. You can catch the exhibit in the lobby of SMX Convention Center.

My Human Race

On 8/31/08, I already planned to run on Calauit Island for my 10k Nike Human Race. One good thing about the Nike Sports band is that it is light and you can wear it like a watch. I own a Garmin 305 and a Nike Plus iPod Kit but I find the Nike Sportsband to be traveller friendly.
