Romi Garduce’s Mt. Everest Quest — a symbolic conquest for the Filipino people.

By

The fact of the matter is, Romi has a full time work in our company but he did not give up the dream and the vision of putting a Philippine Flag in all the seven summits of the world! … You’ll be amaze at how he used technology and the internet to connect with other world class mountain climbers and form a team going up to the summit. … I remember that in our college days, people are saying that our youth is the hope of the Philippines, but guess what that same youth is in his 30s right now and this is the generation that is breaking into greater heights for the Filipinos.

a Prayer for Romi Garduce’s First Pinoy Mt Everest Quest…

By

This is a very dangerous climb that could mean life or death situation and I’m really worried at the same time proud that the dream is within reach in a month’s time. I know that you want to die on a mountain but this is not the one, you still have a few summits to go and conquer the rest of the 7 summits and make us Filipinos proud. We pray that you go home safely whether you are successful or not and we don’t want to lose the very unique Romi character that we have grown to love and appreciate.

The quest is ON for the First Filipino in Mt. Everest!

By

Romi is an officemate and a good friend for some years now, and I’m glad that our company supported him in this quest. … He would be attempting to climb the summit and be back in Manila by May 15 (at the earliest) or May 29 (at the latest). … Everest in May 2007 and for sure will set other records including becoming the first all Filipino expedition team and the first Asian woman on top of Mt.

Carlos Celdran’s Escolta/Quiapo Tour

By

I first heard of his tour from my brother, of course through this blog , and when a friend from Fil-Am Photo Auey Santos volunteered to organize a trip for those of us who are coming home for the holidays (I am an OFW) , I know I have to be counted.
…On a parallel note, we also learned of how Imelda rose to fame, rags to riches style as well, when she “manipulated” the Governor of Manila to give her the title of Miss Manila.
…* From Avenida to Quiapo Church (our final stop), we merged and squeezed like blood that passes through the arteries of a busy heart—the heart of Manila that is and was.

[World Pyro Series.8] La Mancha’s Fellowship of Fire — Finale!

By

This firework scene makes it all worth it to see this hanging lanterns in the sky that lasts for 45 seconds (which is the longest fireworks we have seen!). Imagine the entire night sky, filled will all these dropping colorful balls of light for 45 seconds of pure fireworks bliss! … This is enough to erase the memories of enduring the stand-still traffic that lasted until 2am in the morning, listening to criticism that the Philippines show was just standard for most part compared to the other 9 countries, and watching in agony as some of the fireworks exploded in water.

[World Pyro Series.7] Congratulations Australia – First Pyro Olympic Champion!

By

By the way, just for the record there were only 9 countries competing excluding Philippines since it is home territory and for sure we won’t match the sheer money that Australia and US can muster to have a jaw dropping fireworks.
…What’s so great about it is that its spacious and we were able to secure a spot directly in the break water edge to take the awesome shots of UAE and the La Mancha’s Fellowship of Fire. For P100 entrance fee, you get to watch four (4) awesome bands for the Finale night (Menaya, Tropical Depression, Itchyworms, Kapatid) This is one of the hassles of using portable toilets whether you are rich or poor, you have to use the portalets.

[World Pyro Series.5] Day 4 of the Greatest Show in Manila

By

A Date with Fireworks Day 4 of the World Pyro and I’m enjoying every moment of it along with all the other Filipinos who love world class entertainment. … It was oohs and aahs throughout and I’m glad I made it to the show considering I came from a Viaje del Sol tour the whole morning. Here are some more scenes of families enjoying the fireworks show to give you a feel of the ambiance and environment in Diosdado Macapagal viewpoint.
